1.) There is not ever an excuse to hit a woman.
2.) Some women (and I'm not saying that's what happened here) push it on purpose, knowing #1.

Replace "hit a woman" with "take her without permission", and it all still applies.

I'm not excusing the man's behavior and I'm not placing blame on the victim. There is no excuse. Zero. On the other side of the equation, the Bad Thing will happen more often to a woman who chooses to push things than it would to a woman who treats men with the same respect (given gender differences) that men should treat women with. There's a two way street in respect, here. We KNOW the male who is a big enough douche to change his name to War Machine (that's a pretty douchey name even if you've gone to war, not as someone who's been expelled from a military academy). We do not know if the female in the equation crossed the respect line or not.

Given Douchebag's posts, he seemed to think he and Mack were still in a relationship. That's the key point, here, with respect to her behavior. Again, her behavior has no bearing on whether or not "War Machine" is at fault and an asshole: he quite obviously is on both counts. Whether Mack was a bitch or nor comes down to whether they were still together or, as she's stated, they hadn't been together since May.

I agree no man should ever beat a woman no matter if it was provoked. It takes more courage to walk away after you ex-girlfriend made fun of your small cock.

This is just dumb. You guys are acting like if women are some sort of weak juveniles that aren't mature enough to defend themselves or deal with the repercussions of their actions.
Whatever happened to equality? Women have killed people before you know. If some woman tried to rob me at knife piont I'm fighting back.

That's correct, and this is why my sympathy and respect for these kinds of women (and the men who beat them) is not very high.

If first hand experience and observations means anything, in the real world, these types of women are also often violent, unstable/unpredictable, and extremely untrustworthy (cheating with every guy behind her man's back).

I'll take these women in the form of escorts, flings, and one night stands, but not as dates, girlfriends or wives. The bad boys can keep them.
Your first hand experience doesn't mean anything unless you are personally familiar with her and can attest to her character. What we DO know is that a guy who is trained as a lethal fighter beat the shit out of her beyond recognition.

What we also know is that you are an asshole who like him is attempting to blame the vicitim. That is more telling of your character and your attitude towards women in general.

Equality? Do the pictures of her suggest she was successful in "defending" herself? Don't be an ass the guy is an MMA fighter.

Totally different scenario. Anyone is entitled to defend themselves if they're threatened.

She was at home minding her own business. They hadn't been together since May. This douchebag comes charging in, gets jealous & beats 2 people. I don't care if they WERE still together, no one deserves a beating.

We know she says they haven't been together since May. His words seem to indicate he believes differently.

If they were together, and she had another dude over, that doesn't excuse the guy with a douchebag name. All it does is make her a cheater and a bitch. It doesn't lessen any of his actual responsibility or blame. It just adds to hers.

It takes no "courage" to walk away from a bad situation. All it takes is knowing that if you escalate the situation the law will punish you. To save yourself from such a negative consequence, it's usually better to walk away. But let's be clear, no matter how many times you have heard people say it takes courage for a man to walk away - there is no courage involved at all.

I have neither blamed the victim nor have I made a comment that suggests any attitude toward women I general. Only a particular subset of women - the ones that voluntarily and eagerly enter relationships with rapists and beaters.

While I do believe women in General have a soft spot for the Hollywood style bad boy, I do not believe that most women actually want nor would tolerate a violent bad boy in their own personal lives.

You seem to have overlooked that a man was beaten even more severely. Do my comments suggests to you that I think war machine was right in beating up the man too?

Dog the Bounty Hunter is after him. Probably for the $10,000 reward and to kick start a new season perhaps.

Well it certainly takes intelligence (which War Machine lacks there of) to walk away.

No but you suggested tbat she may belong to that particular subset and that she therefore "had it coming". You did so without having any knowledge of the situation but made that assessment of her character presumably from her choice of profession. It is exactly this attitude women (and those who repect them) have been battling in rape cases for ages. I take it you don't participate in the slutwalk then?

This says it all what you think of women. In other words you will assess their character, pass judgement, fuck them but not respect them.

Well actually by your logic the other guy had it coming too as he should have known better than to associate with a women of her "ill repute".

I'm truly baffled by some of this discussion.

He's a trained professional. I'm pretty sure that it is well established under U.S. case law that his bare hands are considered to be deadly weapons. This is no different than if a guy shot an unarmed woman.

And that is his individual choice as to who he lets into his personal life. It is naive or a lie to assume that we don't judge people and then associate/dis-associate ourselves at a personal level with them. And choosing one's mate is a serious, life impacting decision. It is almost a survival level human decision to select a mate with the highest possible level of values/moral character.

I know that she belongs to a subset of women because this isn't the first time he has beaten her. She has been beaten in the past and returned. Believe it or not but it is all part of the exciting bad boy lifestyle these women voluntarily and eagerly participate in. They both had it coming to them - him for being drawn to a ready taunting 'victim' and her for her willing relationship with a violent man. What do you expect to happen when two people like this get together? These are the perverse version of adrenaline junkies. They're excited by stupid risks and violence. I'd say they made a great couple.

Retribution is not justice and nobody should be looking to prisoners to define and exact justice. What a world we'd live in if hardcore criminals were the judges, jurors, and executioners in mainstream society.
