I am planning to go to the USA on a shopping trip or two after Labor Day when the crowds thin out. Are there any USA bargains to be had at Costco, Sams Club, Walmart, Target that are not available up here in Canada? Any problems using your Costco card in the US?

There are lots of good buys.

The approach should be to find out the prices here of the things you need. Then see what the American prices are when you are there. That is unless you will buy something because it is a good price even if you don't need it.

Costco cards will work.

I'm a big fan of the giant scallops at SAMs club. Not sure it's available everywhere but it's a habit when I go to florida.

Booze at costco is a no brainer. I remember when they had Kirkland brand scotch that was produced by Macallan. Glorious.

Sunglasses at Costco are priced pretty well. I saw a pair of Serengettis for $70 and they retail here for about double that. You can use your Canadian Costco card too.

Sometimes there are things at CDN Tire that are 75-80% off. In the long run I am saving.

I checked the Costco USA site, the item is listed but it also indicates that you have to check to see if it is available at the store. It might be seasonal. On the Kirkland scotch, was the that $700 bottle? I think I will stick with my Chivas Regal

The Canadian Costco site list many pairs of sunglasses, but the USA site only list 2 pairs.
