Not trying to be a conspiracy theorist but wonder with what is going on with Russia and the Ukraine and Israel and Gaza .... It seems like things could get very ugly and we could be in a war fairly quickly. Am I just being paranoid or does anyone else feel the same way ?

I thought it was gonna begin with China, but the Russians sure are trying hard these days.

In spiritual/biblical terms we are into the "end of days" so not as farfetched as it might seem.

Energies around the world are changing and the signs are a showing.

No worries, It will take much more than this to roll us into WW3. Hamas has little to no support in the Middle East. Europe doesn't care about what is going on in Ukraine and the West can't do anything about it so they are staying away and trying sanctions. I figure WW3 will start up (some day) in Asia with China / Japan ? Taiwan involvement.

I think economic sanctions will continue and be upgraded. It won't be WW3 but Israel and Hamas have had wars before and this one will end within a few weeks/months possibly with interventional peace talks from other countries.
The Ukraine is festering and may require outside troops to establish boundaries. I don't predict doom and gloom though. WW3 would happen if North Korea sent a uranium missile into forein soil or Iraq or Pakistan did the same. inmho

I believe that China will continue to build its military forces until it is confident that it has a much larger military then the US. That could take 10 years or so at the rate they are going. I agree that if China attacked Japan then US would be forced to step in and defend Japan.

That would be a complete turnaround going from nuking Japan twice in ww2 to helping them.

If Russia invades Ukraine, will NATO send troops to fight Russians? If no, what's holding Russians back now?
Absence of power. Russians gathered about 40K most combat-ready troops on Ukrainian borders. It is a lot, but by the word of military experts absolutely not enough to occupy a quite large country with population of 40 millions. They can enter and occupy some areas of Ukraine, they can probably even march to Kiev and take it, but than what?

And no, NATO will not send troops to fight Russian because as it means a nuclear warfare.

And to the topic: No, WW3 is not coming. For WW3 to happen Russia has to have some allies, but the Russia is absolutely alone. It can be World vs Russia, but unlikely.

BTW, those, who thinks about China & Russia. Chinese troop are specifically trained and geared-up to fight... Russian forces. China has an eye on Russian territories, which are now populated (illegally) by Chinese. And by taking the Crimea Russian showed an example... Dangerous example.

And to the question: "What the hell is going on in Russia?"
My personal take on it...
Putin is tired to play democracy, even pretend to play. Because it does not guarantee absolute personal power. Chinese governing model does not guarantee absolute PERSONAL power. But North Korean - does. Putin building new North Korea, where the main component of the regime - isolation for the outside world for the country's populations. Putin does everything to isolate his country form influence of the outside world. Look at his every step, even today, when he banned import of food and closed Russian aerospace for Ukrainian flights. He has built very efficient and powerful propaganda machine, and while his support among Russians is at all times high he can cut-off all links with the world and enjoy absolute personal power without any influence from anywhere. Pretty much like in North Korea.

I don't know about a WWIII, but if not used by North Korea, perhaps an extremist Islamic Fundamentalist group might use an atomic weapon.

I fear nuclear blackmail or terrorism more so than another world war.

The United States has been "at war" pretty much constantly for the last 100 years.

Some argue that there was only 1 World War. That World War 1 and World War 2 were the same war, fought by the same players, over the same issues with merely a 20 year breather between the two while all sides re-armed.

WW2 bled right into the cold war / Korea / Vietnam / the Middle East (which is a religious war of sorts), and now back to Europe.

While Canada may not have been on a war footing for the last 100 years, the USA definitely has been. But I guess it could definitely get worse.

One thing that struck me in The World is Flat is that worldwide economic ties makes major wars counterproductive.

The West’s Reckless Rush Towards War With Russia

The West’s Reckless Rush Towards War With Russia

Paul Craig Roberts

On a number of occasions recently I have made the point that the psychopaths in control of Washington are driving the West to war with Russia. The lies that the Obama regime and Western presstitute media are hurling at President Putin are even more blatantly false that the lies Washington used against Saddam Hussein, Gaddafi, Assad, the Taliban, and Iran, and the lies are far more reckless. Russia has a nuclear arsenal as large as Washington’s, and Russia is very much aware that for 13 years Washington’s lies and demonizations of countries are the preludes to launching military attacks on the countries.

It is completely obvious that no one in Washington has enough sense to be in government. In Washington power is in demonic and idiotic hands. Washington consists of the largest collection of criminal fools in human history.

You have read what I have had to say. Now you can read it from Chris Martenson. Tyler Durden has posted Martenson’s analysis on Zero Hedge http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-07-31/wests-reckless-rush-towards-war-russia or you can read it on Peak Prosperity. http://www.peakprosperity.com/blog/86415/wests-reckless-rush-towards-war-russia

The threat to life on earth has never been as great as it is at this time. The crazed fools in Washington and the reckless scum that comprise the Western media are brewing armageddon.

If it does it will be more likely to arise as a result of some group like ISIS. However reckless Putin is he is still a rational actor. That is not the case with ISIS and similar type groups.

Russia doesn't need to occupy the whole Ukraine. What's stopping them from entering the eastern region that area already under rebel control, and repel Ukrainian army?

Have you been to NK and Russia to compare the two or are you one of those smart ***** who draw conclusions based on CNN reports which can't even get geography right most of the time :) ? Remember US started with sanctions and dragged EU into it not Russia, US sponsored a nazi coup in Ukraine not Russia. Russia is simply responding to this rediculous absurdity. The sanctions will not hurt US or Canada much but they will hurt EU, some countries will be very hurt. Did Russia plan for this? No! But when a neighbouring country is ruled by junta which openly calls for killings of Russians and all that mess is sponsored by US who also managed to blame Russia for that same mess you know that something must be done.

Someone is listening to WAY too much Russian propaganda. Or maybe Far Left Western media who cut and paste from Russian TV news to come up with nonsense to throw at Obama and the other Western leaders.

There is no Nazi coup in Ukraine. The current leader, Poroshenko is a moderate centrist who was recently democratically elected with more than 50% of the vote. The 2 far Right parties polled aggregate less than 5% of the vote - less than the Western European Right Wing parties routinely get in their elections.

No "junta" has called for any "killings" of Russian speaking Ukrainians. Nonsense and crap. Do you honestly believe that Canada and the US would support a genocide regime?

The US did not "sponsor" the Maidan demonstrations, although they did faciliate them. The demos involved 50,000 - 70,000 Ukrainians each day. Idealistic people who were shot and killed by riot police and who kept coming out in the dead of winter to make a better country. Do you really think the CIA paid these people to go out and get shot?

The Western European countries will indeed suffer from the effect of sanctions and counter-sanctions, but they are sufficiently concerned about Putin's policies to undergo this.

I spend a half-hour a day reading articles on Ukraine and I post many of them on a thread on this board - https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?477135-Russia-s-Plans-to-Partition-Ukraine

I've been doing this for 3 or 4 months. Please check out the articles. They are from a variety of sources.
