I'll say it .It's the Indians. They're the most ignorant discourteous pricks on the road. That's not racist, it's a fact. I've been driving truck for 20 years and the quality of truck driver out there is going down the toilet. I guess you get what you pay for.
I can still remember during my air brake training, they showed us a video where, under controlled conditions, a brake chamber was deliberately over pressurized, and....WOW! Let`s just say, you wouldn`t want to be behind one of those fuckers when they blow! (In my case, I drive a bus, so you can imagine the law suites when something happens to your `load`)
But on the subject at hand, my pet peeve with dump trucks is traveling north along Hwy 12 towards Orillia. I always cringe as these trucks pass me heading south from the Brechin quarry. Several times now BANG, BANG off the windshield, or front of the car somewhere....ahhhh!

Correct me if I'm wrong here. I'm pretty sure trucks which transport construction machinery must clean the equipment off any debris(mud, rocks, etc) to the best of drivers ability. So that nothing falls off on the roadway during transport and hits other vehicles. Would dump trucks have the same rule?
It is the drivers responsibility to ensure NOTHING falls of his rig...be it a T/T Tri-axle dump ..flat bed...5 ton ..panel van..pickup...we'll hit you with an unsafe load citation...and it'll go against your company CVOR..

I'm speaking as someone who has seen first hand the devastation caused by trucks that are unsafe and as someone who came within an inch of getting killed when a truck driver fell asleep.
On top of that my taxes pay for the roads your truck destroys, so you should be thanking me. Either that, or better yet start paying for the cost of maintains highways.
Better yet, put it on trains and eliminate trucks as much as possible.

On top of that trucks pay more taxes for the roads your car uses, so you should be thanking me. Either that, or better yet start paying for the cost of maintains highways.
Better yet, let's put all people on trains and eliminate car from our roads as much as possible.
I'm all for putting people on trains. No issues there. I take public transit as it is, I live in the old inner city of Toronto and have a metro pass. So there.
As far as trucks go...put them on trains too. Intermodal all the way. Trucks drive only "the last mile" so to speak. No need for trucks to be carrying goods on the highways. The truck drives to the intermodal station, the cube gets loaded on a train and goes to whatever city it goes to. Railways operate in their own corridors, away from people, maintain their own track and bridges (not the tax payers) and if they break down, they don't kill people. Far better, far safer to utilize trains. We just need to break the mindset that trucks are more convenient and the way to go. They are not. They are a menace.
And as far as trucks paying their fair share of taxes, make me laugh.
One fully laden highway truck does as much damage to the asphalt as 10,000 car passes. This is a scientific fact, and you can google it yourself "AASHTO trucks damage asphalt", where AASHTO is the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials.
To rebuild the 401 from the Allan to Yonge Street alone was over a billion dollars. All of that damage caused by trucks. Your crappy little licensing fees don't even scratch the surface. Nice try though,.
