Robbie was disruptive and verbally abusive in rehab

Not that I'm doubting the story ... but I have some reservations regarding the author. This is the same reporter that emailed me to ask about my involvement with the Ford brothers. I have no involvement with them, and there is no reason to think I do. He was fishing for a story and I wonder how often he gets a bite from some loser who just has to involve themselves in drama and gossip and often exaggerates the truth. If this is how he gets his information I am somewhat skeptical that it is 100% accurate, 100% of the time.
If the reporter harassed or asked inappropriate questions to you at all that would be totally offside but the idea/theory that Rob Ford spends time with escorts was put forth in some of the court documents that have been released to date. Unfortunately for you in this case your contact information is out there.... possibly the reporter is contacting other Indies to try to get confirmation on the allegations.

If true, this would put in doubt his claim that he gets more than enough to eat at home. Or he is insatiable. I vote for the latter. RoFo has major impulse control issues booze or no booze. He can't be drunk 24/7.

He obviously had some info—it seems it was erroneous—that he thought he should check out. So he did, by calling you, and having you set him straight about yourself, if not about Rob. Of course he was fishing for a story, but no fisherman talks about nibbles that weren't even bites.

It beggars belief to imagine full-time print journalists calling all of the many escorts in the GTA at random looking for a lucky hit who might just be willing to volunteer some dirt on Rob. Newspapers don't have that kinda cash, and I like to think SPs are savvy enough to protect both their clients and their income stream by not blabbing. Which doesn't mean there isn't some other Jess, or Jessica or Lea or Lee out there who doesn't keep secrets as well as you.

What you have actually pointed out is that he went to some trouble to get his facts straight, even if what you told him kept the gossip he'd heard unusable.

Here
I think the truth is fairly simple.

Rofo's "excuse" that "the liquor made me do it" is bullshit.

Booze reveals the person as s/he really is. As the Romans said, "In vino veritas." And there is a Russian proverb that really puts things in focus: "
What a sober man has in his mind, the drunk one has on his tongue." And so does the Talmud: “Wine enters, secrets exit.”

Sorry to say this, but the man is a total asshole... which is confirmed by his antics in places such as City Council where his [and his brother's] antics take place while sober... or so we are led to believe.

It's not known if the police visit was related to Ford.
Where are these verified statements from first hand witnesses? They're not in the article.
The article says that they spoke with witnesses who were there first hand and described Ford bullying other residents, being abusive and disruptive, and getting kicked out of group therapy.

Three comments:

If Rob Ford was a disruptive ass in the past why would anyone expect him to magicly change overnight in rehab? That is just naive.

Who cares anyway now that he is running a distant 3rd. Let's hope that they (Star) exercise the same zeal when either Tory or Chow get elected.

Anybody that would take the Star's word anything when souces aren't named in a "he said, she said" story is an idiot. Same if was the Sun. Hell even the The New York Times has found publishing false stories on occasion.

The brothers have been verbally abusive and bullies their entire lives and a lot of it caught on TV. As if the rehab administrators didn't know before hand.

It's a smear campaign, plain and simple. It certainly isn't the first time that someone in rehab will have withdrawal symptoms and be uncooperative. This is a non-issue only to make Ford look bad. Not that I will vote for him, but it is irrelevant. It's perfectly fine if you don't want him as Mayor. I can support that, but to inject this negativity during the campaign is low - for the Star and his opponents. Absolutely no compassion for someone with addiction problems.

Exactly. It's overkill. They don't need to do anything but I guess they want to hammer those nails tight into his political coffin.

I was gonna say too that those shirtless protesters should be dealt with, but I also want Ford to resign and not split the vote, so I can tolerate that, but Ford doesn't have to answer those questions which would incriminate him. Plain and simple. Just talk about municipal issues and make them look like idiots, but he needs a script.

When he was Councillor, he was under the radar. But it's not the same when you're the Mayor.

Probably true Fuji, probably true, but it's probably also the hallmark of a such an addict in rehab.

My thoughts as well.

Of course Ford does need more than a couple months at a rehab resort to fix his problems.

And I don't see a smear campaign, just a paper trying to sell.

True. He probably needs more time. Much more time.

I guess (by my own admission), if it's plausible, then it's not technically a smear campaign, bit it's still in poor taste.

(Ford anecdotes: He was my councillor and reduced a property tax penalty due to my late dad's dementia who forgot to pay on time. Another time, he visited the site to investigate a complaint about our tenant by a neighbour. So he was good at that stuff. Who knew he had those demons?)

I get around.
Ford was in "racist" (as Doug would say) and contrarian form today, and not due to drinking.
So in blatant contradiction to his post-rehab speech, nothing has changed and he has not learned anything.
Mayor Rob Ford, long criticized for his refusal to attend Toronto’s Pride Parade, stayed in his seat Wednesday as the rest of his council colleagues stood and applauded city staff for their work on the recent World Pride Festival.

Mr. Ford appeared to be the only one on city council not to join in the standing ovation. He remained glued to his seat several minutes later when the rest of council again stood, this time in appreciation of Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam, council’s only openly gay member and a key catalyst for the festival.

Sure, that's fine. But that's not proof that the police incident was related to Ford. That's the claim I take issue with, because it is unsupported by facts.

hilarious to read that there are still Ford suppporters out there..too funny..
I don't support Ford. He is an admitted drug addict, and on that basis alone he is unsuitable to be mayor. But I do believe he deserves a fair shake.. and I think the Toronto Star goes too far digging for mud on the guy. Why the media simply couldn't respect his privacy while he was receiving treatment for his drug addiction is beyond me.

Anyone who continues to lie and deceive, escape and evade being forthright and honest. Anyone who will not answer to the public and continues to attempt carrying on as if nothing ever happened deserves to have his fate served to him as seen fit.
