Brother, that is certainly true, but I would respectfully submit that it is no longer a hobby. Letting it get personal, developing feelings, going beyond strict financial transaction...shit gets real.
there's a middle ground.... there's a place between simply fucking and letting it get personal. I spend hours of companionship time with gentlemen who are certainly not 'falling for me' ... they just need more than just sex. Its nice to be appreciated for my other qualities too

Based upon 18 years of off and on visits to SCs, MPs, SPs and events, parties where patrons presented themselves en masse the following would be a very fair representation of the men who pay for services:
1) 1% very attractive .... most gals would love to be with based upon looks alone and sans $$$
2) 5% attractive ..... more gals than not MAY consider being with sans $$$
3) 10% ...... slightly above average looking .....
4) 15% ..... average looking at best .... Tim Hudak, Dustin Hoffman
5) 20% ..... below average looking... think Larry Fine of the Three Stooges
6) 30% ..... stomach turning ....... Quasimodo
7) 20% ..... repulsive ...... grotesque

Depends upon the lens.
Seen thousands of these patrons over the years, the sample size is quite large and reflects reality.
These 20%ers certainly aroused these feelings within me.
And 30% were certainly disagreeable, distasteful and nauseatingly, stomach turning.
I don't have enough time to wade through the various answers to this thread.... But i can say that the reason I hobby is for the service, not so much the looks (though looks help the service)...

Those "figures" are completely pulled out of a hat. As are almost all of the comments here.
And the premise of the OP is pretty out there too - the only person he can speak of is himself. He can explain why he lies, he can't say anything about the rest of us.

All the Pooners know is their own motivation. Their posts are fantasy and projection. Some know they are ugly, so everyone else is ugly. Some know they lie, so everyone else does too. Look at the poster's projection, and you know their story.
Fortunately for patrons, looks are not important.
Unfortunately for patrons, they play quite a role when $$$ are deleted from the male/female attraction equation.

Friends with benefits when you have a S.O. can go south in short order. As to why hobby at all - I have an insatiable appetite for strange. In the same way people would find kraft mac & cheese dinner for three meals a day / seven days a week mundane - I crave the new diverse experiences of different beautiful women.
Ok I'll throw my hat in ..... I am 5'8" .... told always I am good looking ..... BUT at 5'8" women don't consider that sexy & worth considering ...... thus rated as ho- hum average to below average & given the pass over. There is a big difference between good looking/attractive & sexy. Women go after & date SEXY. Kinda like a guy looking at a huge fat woman with a pretty face ..... likely a no go

While I think the OP takes his premise too far, projecting a little too aggressively, all you have to do is read some of these reviews to figure out some of these guys may be embellishing their own appeal. My reasons are mostly down to laziness, but it is true I probably can't get an 8 or a 9 on my own. And the sex quality is also a point I'll co-sign. It can drop off immediately among civilians. At least if an SP is bad in bed you only lost the cash from one session and it didn't take you six weeks to find out.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Many men like BBW's, many women are okay with short men. Maybe you just have a habit of seeking shallow women, but that does not make it a fair or realistic generalization.

2. Most guys can get laid with effort. The more attractive the woman, the more effort required. Some prefer to pay rather than expend the effort.
3. Height is one of many factors that goes into attractiveness. Having it is no guarantee if other factors aren't there. Lack of it is not a deal killer if other factors are there. This is true even in a nightclub environment.

It is not to say that a male who is blessed with average looks is unable to obtain the companionship of a goddess. There are other tools he may possess.
Yet.
For the vast majority of sex workers it is only the $$ that drive them and rightly so.
I was and still am tremendously grateful to be with a women who is way out of my league in terms of looks and personality, yet the gods smiled favorably upon me.
Note: you don't need looks or money to land a 8-10 but it sure helps.
On a final note: saying you would never leave your wife amounts to working on one side of the equation, a relationship requires a different perspective. I know you know how your shoes fit, try someone else's.
