It was a quiz/contest from a radio station where there was a song of an unnamed group and somebody had to "guess who" it was. The name stuck.

the song was Shakin All Over and the group was known at that time as Chad Allan & the Expressions..the record label decided to credit the single only to "Guess Who?" in an attempt to make people think several famous performers were working under a pseudonym..the track reached #1 in Canada..even after the record company revealed the name of the real band, DJ's still announced the group as Guess Who?, effectively forcing the band to rename themselves
