No problems, but a healthy respect. I keep my cottage property free of tempting garbage, and food containers are mostly airtight plastic.Anybody here have problems with bears? Of course, the usual suspects will blame humans for invading the bear's natural habitat. The Wynne government has authorized a bear cull this Spring (probably because the Liberals want to retain their Northern Ontario seats and bears don't vote).
So now you don't think raccoons are diseased an verminous, like you said before? You're wrong about where the various sorts of Toronto's trash wind up these days, although your version may have been true in farm country back in the day. There's absolutely nothing in an animal carcass that's any different from the leavings of an average household, let alone the shit that goes into city, commercial and industrial garbage bins. And it all goes to the same dump at the end of the day. And I've worked on a crew that picked up dead animals and guess what? Same garbage bags, same dump.
And I'm not completely heartless, I don't kill every single animal that crosses my path - just the ones who decide to hang around and cause damage. So enjoy your frothing
Ugh- no bay leaves pleaseDon't trash it!
When cooked slowly in a Crock Pot, raccoons make an excellent meal. Just quarter your raccoon and remove the surface fat. Then slip in a large onion, some bay leaves and some Campbell's mushroom soup. (The recipe is on the back of the can.)
Saw a HUGE raccoon (at first I thought it was a bear) climb up my neighbor's Spruce tree. Does a Spruce tree with its needles and cones provide a food source for raccoons?Looked out this morning into the back yard and my lawn is all dug up.
I think its raccoons looking for food underneath the grass.
They love the evergreens around our place, but I suspect more for the easy climbing and shelter than food.Saw a HUGE raccoon (at first I thought it was a bear) climb up my neighbor's Spruce tree. Does a Spruce tree with its needles and cones provide a food source for raccoons?
A .177 Savage does a really nice job on Racoons.
Some of the high powered .22 air guns are pretty quiet. I am talking about the 1200fps+ ones that are considered firearms and require a PAL.I wish. Although, I've been taking notes of YouTube videos on DIY suppressors. LOL.
A small plastic soft drink or fruit drink container filled with steel wool works wonders!I wish. Although, I've been taking notes of YouTube videos on DIY suppressors. LOL.
someone's been watching TeamWild hunts on YouTube. lol. Some of the high powered .22 air guns are pretty quiet. I am talking about the 1200fps+ ones that are considered firearms and require a PAL.
You would be surprised.I've been thinking about an air gun for plinking. I'm sure they would be fine for rats. I'm no so sure they would enough to take out the 20lb bastards in my neighbourhood.
You would be surprised.
However those high power air rifles really are firearms and if caught you face multiple serious criminal charges. You might as well stick to attaching oil filters to the muzzle of your .22lr
The sub 500fps air guns that are not firearms would just piss them off unless you manage to shoot their eye out.
