I think you're talking about the Buck Martinez broken leg double play. Seattle was playing against Toronto, and Seattle singled to right. Barfield in right threw home in time to get the Mariners player (Gorman Thomas?) who tried to score from second by bowling over Buck, breaking his leg. Buck held onto the ball, resulting in the first out. He saw that the Mariners other player on base was advancing to third, and threw to third. The ball sailed into left field and the Mariners player tried to score. Bell, in left, threw home in time to complete the double play.

Not exactly correct. Phil Bradley was the player that bowled over Buck Martinez. Gorman Thomas was the player that was heading to third and subsequently home when the throw from George Bell went to home. Gorman Thomas realized that Martinez was injured and tried to tiptoe around him. That is why Buck was able to tag him out at the plate.

Thomas showed a lot of class and compassion by not running over Martinez and he was thanked by the Jays' replacement catcher, I think it was Ernie Whitt, next time Gorman came to the plate.

If you mean the British Royal family the answer is less than 5. Princess Ann was part of the equestrian team in Montreal in 1976 and her daughter Zara competed in the London Olympics of 2012 also in equestrian.
Though he was not Royal at the time, Princess Ann's future husband Captain Mark Phillips competed in the 1972 games. He married Ann the following year.

Other than the Brits, there have been numerous members of royalty that have competed in the games.

Correction..... Mark Phillips also competed in 1988 while still married to Ann.
