At the time, who was dubbed "The fastest white man in baseball"?
You need to define "At the time". The correct answer could be Ty Cobb, Cap Anson, Jim Thorpe or Dave Collins, depending on the time to which you refer. Mantle would also be correct, if 'the time' was before his first knee injury.

I dunno.... was Maury Wills considered white? If so that is my guess.

If not than I agree on DAve Collins. That man could fly around the bases. Most stolen bases in one season as a Blue Jay.

Dave Collins is correctamundo!
After one season with the Oakland A's, Collins, and his $700,000 contract, was traded in the off season to the Detroit Tigers for some stiff, Barbero Garbey, I believe. The next day, the A's released Garbey. When asked why he had made the move, A's GM Sandy Alderson said "We had to take something, to get rid of Collins".

That is the same way the Jays got Edwin Encarnacion. He was a salary throw in by the Reds in order to take Scott Rolen's big pay from Toronto.

Originally baseball cards were cardboard rectangles that stiffened the American style soft cigarette packs, later the cigarette companies started to print them into baseball cards and they became collectors items.
