Wrong again Bubba, my post is there to show her flip flops on everything she previously stated. A carbon copy of that walking stiff Dalton McGuinty. Another example of a duplicitous bottom feeder, and Chow is in the same echelon. Y'all really drank deeply from the kool aid pitcher didn't you?The things I quoted from your post were all good ideas that should earn her votes.
More than $40 million on child and family projects. RIGHT ON!
Let's add more busses on the already congested roads, absolute brilliance! She just announced that she wants to expand rush hour bus service by 10 percent at a cost of $15 million. Naturally, she didn't say how she's going to find that money. Then again, Ford and Tory haven't revealed how they're going to fund their subway plans either.

Not as brilliant as 'sheet' brilliance.Let's add more busses on the already congested roads, sheet brilliance!
Pfft...autocorrect, I stand corrected. That doesn't change the fact that her idea is stupid, almost as stupid as supporting bike lanes on major arterial roads in the city. Putting bike lanes on Jarvis was awesome, how else could you fuck up my commute to and from work? Not to mention that other asinine idea of adding bike lanes on University through hospital row.Not as brilliant as 'sheet' brilliance.
Still, anyone who prioritizes the things like families and children as highlighted in your post is worth voting for.Wrong again Bubba, my post is there to show her flip flops on everything she previously stated. More dedicated bus lanes. We should also have more HOV lanes and ultimately tolls on the expressways at least for SOV's.Let's add more busses on the already congested roads, absolute brilliance!
One thing the city should look into is having an advanced green for transit vehicles. Get those beasts out of the intersection as quickly as possible.More dedicated bus lanes. We should also have more HOV lanes and ultimately tolls on the expressways at least for SOV's.
But Torontonians love losers, just look at the Leafs.I think you need to get your head examined Bubba, none of what I posted about Chow was positive. It goes to show that she'll say one thing in front of a camera or audience and do another in chambers. She's nothing more than a self serving career politician who happens to have an annoying self deprecating narcissism about her. Read part of her nauseating book and it'll be obvious.
Do you know why the majority of Canadians don't like the NDP? It's because they always lose! And if the New Democrats smugly think they're so fucking smart, why do they lose so god damn always?
A bus holding 25 people takes up the same space as 3 cars holding 3 people.Let's add more busses on the already congested roads, absolute brilliance!
Marcus. I'm a Tory fan at this point. But expanding busses is actually a good thing. There are some underserviced routes in the city and this will actually assist with gridlock a bit. It is a good temporary measure until more subways can be built. Adding some express buses to the core could help as well.Let's add more busses on the already congested roads, absolute brilliance!

Hopefully Stintz when she drops out and possibly takes back the TTC chair looks at this one beyond who the messenger is and implements it.
Here's an idea, why not take a hard look at the current GO train system and roll that and the TTC into one entity? Add more accessible stops to the GO train, and kill 2 birds with one stone. Modernize GO, and expand commuter rail service on existing infrastructure for the entire region in addition to better utilizeing stretched resources. I'm sure TTC unions will fight that one to the grave. And above all else take the politicians out of the transit equation altogether!...until more subways can be built'?
With the current environment of no'mo'money'honey for transit, those temporary buses will be a long term solution for the fantasy trains.
Stintz will be offered a post on The Lawn Bowling Committee.
This is a good idea. It isn't the union, it's the intergovernmental turf wars that would fight it tooth and nail. You would have to centralize transit under Metrolinx and everybody in each GTA city would get huffy about giving up control of their fief. Here's an idea, why not take a hard look at the current GO train system and roll that and the TTC into one entity? The idea would be to run local trains in the city on the GO lines, improve signaling so trains can run every five or ten minutes both ways, increase the number of stations, and use it as an alternative to the TTC subway. Meaning, your TTC token gets you a bus ride to the train station and without any additional fare, you transfer and ride that train downtown. But it does nothing really for the city residents. Most of their traffic is from the suburbs(with Scarborough having several stops as well, the rest just a few). Better bus and Subway service is more suited to the actual city.
It is an interesting idea. And may work on certain lines. But something like the Lakeshore line? Tough to see both logistically(remember that both Via and transpot trains use the line as well) and getting people to the stations. The idea would be to run local trains in the city on the GO lines, improve signaling so trains can run every five or ten minutes both ways, increase the number of stations, and use it as an alternative to the TTC subway. Before you say that is not cost effective, it eliminates the need to build a new line at a cost of a billion dollars.
