Why can't you go to your family doctor? Cialis might not be right for you and he would know this. Like any medication there are side effects, on top of this, when combined with other meds you may be on, could lead to complications.

If you do have any health problems that are slight or as of yet undiagnosed or are taking daily meds, your doctor would know if you are able to take this and the proper dosing that is right for you. Go in for something in order to see your doctor, then open the dialogue with him. ED could be caused by an underlying, as of yet undiagnosed problem.

There are many medical conditions which would prevent you from taking cialis, only your family doctor would have that knowledge.

Like what?

Your discussions/treatments are protected by confidentiality. Same as a lawyer. Privileged information.
The OP might be concerned about his significant other, if they share the same family doctor

I wonder if this need for these medications are a result of normal males wanting to just enhance their performance or men suffering from genuine erectile dysfunction

Do u guys have appletree medical clinics in toronto? They get u in and out in 5 minutes flat. I got some for my brother a few years back as a joke and it was pretty easy. U just gotta tell them u are having trouble getting it up. Then the doctor will examine your little guy to make sure you are ok physically. After that they will suggest cialis or counseling. Pick cialis of course lol.

was pretty awkward but the doctor gave me a huge prescription with 2 refills. If you are ever in ottawa I can suggest a few doctors at the appletree you can go to. These guys don't really care as they get paid per client so they want to process u as fast as possible.

if i had to worry about my doctor not being 100% confidential with my personal medical information, i'd be looking for a new doctor...
I wouldn't care if my doctor knew that i needed Viagra or Cialis, or had ED, or even if I hobby. But if certain STD tests return positive, then it will be a tricky situation. You may have to be reported to Public Health for communicable diseases. If it is your family doctor, there is also the fear that he/she will out you, or at least pressure you to do the right thing when it especially concerns the wife, who i'd assume you'd have unprotected relations with.

But, as we are TERB and many of us are cheating and lying bastards, would we deal with the consequences selfishly and privately? Or would we man up, do the "right thing" and take the heat that goes with telling the spouse. I know it would be tough for me personally, but I would feel terrible if my wife got sick b/c of my selfishness

We'll all have to make that decision if the time comes, but OP doesn't want his physician to add any further stress or pressure to it. Some of us may feel guilt or anxiety or embarrassment when discussing these issues with a physician who may be a friend. No matter how professional or confidential it may be. It's just human nature.

As to the need for enhancements for ED, I've mentioned before that ginseng works well enough for me

Valid points... so lesson learned: don't share a doctor with your SO.

Exactly - Just because it is available it might not be correct for you. For example if you are taking nitrates for a heart condition etc. you would not likely qualify. Your health history is important to a Doctor when prescribing medications. If you go to a walk in clinic, they may not know what your medical status is. They will only ask a few key questions and if you are not truthful or not sure it could be fatal. Same goes for most if not all medications.

For those who do not have a family Doctor I strongly suggest that you find one and build a good relationship with them. Make sure that they are affiliated with a hospital and that they have a strong group of support physicians as part of their group. Your life could depend on it. Preventive maintenance is what the Canadian health system is built on. Seems to be working since we live so damn long.

Many who suffer from ED would likely benefit from reducing alcohol intake, losing weight and getting regular exercise. Do all that and you may just find that you don't need meds after all.

Pretty much Santa905... Here's some more reasons why it's good to see a doctor before taking CIALIS.

Important Safety Information for CIALIS® (tadalafil) tablets

What Is The Most Important Information I Should Know About CIALIS?

Do not take CIALIS if you:

Take medicines called “nitrates” such as isosorbide dinitrate or isosorbide mononitrate which are often prescribed for chest pain as the combination may cause an unsafe drop in blood pressure.

Use recreational drugs called “poppers” like amyl nitrite and butyl nitrite.

Are allergic to CIALIS or ADCIRCA® (tadalafil), or any of its ingredients. Call your healthcare provider or get help right away if you experience any symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as rash, hives, swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing or swallowing.

After taking a single tablet, some of the active ingredient of CIALIS remains in your body for more than 2 days. The active ingredient can remain longer if you have problems with your kidneys or liver, or you are taking certain other medications.

Stop sexual activity and get medical help right away if you get symptoms such as chest pain, dizziness, or nausea during sex. Sexual activity can put an extra strain on your heart, especially if your heart is already weak from a heart attack or heart disease.

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider Before Taking CIALIS?

CIALIS is not right for everyone. Only your healthcare provider and you can decide if CIALIS is right for you. Ask your healthcare provider if your heart is healthy enough for you to have sexual activity. You should not take CIALIS if your healthcare provider has told you not to have sexual activity because of your health problems. Before taking CIALIS, tell your healthcare provider about all your medical problems, particularly if you have or ever had:

Heart problems such as chest pain (angina), heart failure, irregular heartbeats, or have had a heart attack
High or low blood pressure or have high blood pressure that is not controlled
Stroke
Liver or kidney problems or require dialysis
Retinitis pigmentosa, a rare genetic (runs in families) eye disease
Severe vision loss, including a condition called NAION
Stomach ulcers or a bleeding problem
A deformed penis shape or Peyronie's disease
An erection that lasted more than 4 hours
Blood cell problems such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia

Can Other Medicines Affect CIALIS?

Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take especially if you take:

Medicines called “nitrates” which are often prescribed for chest pain
Alpha-blockers often prescribed for prostate problems
Blood pressure medications
Medicines for HIV or some types of oral antifungal medications
Some types of antibiotics such as clarithromycin, telithromycin, erythromycin (several brand names exist, please contact your healthcare provider to determine if you are taking this medicine)
other medicines or treatments for erectile dysfunction (ED)
CIALIS is also marketed as ADCIRCA for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension. Do not take both CIALIS and ADCIRCA. Do not take sildenafil citrate (Revatio®)* with CIALIS.

What Should I Avoid While Taking CIALIS?

Do not use other ED medicines or ED treatments while taking CIALIS.
Do not drink too much alcohol when taking CIALIS (for example, 5 glasses of wine or 5 shots of whiskey). Drinking too much alcohol can increase your chances of getting a headache or getting dizzy, increasing your heart rate, or lowering your blood pressure.

What Are The Possible Side Effects Of CIALIS?

The most common side effects with CIALIS are: headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle aches, flushing, and stuffy or runny nose. These side effects usually go away after a few hours. Men who get back pain and muscle aches usually get it 12 to 24 hours after taking CIALIS. Back pain and muscle aches usually go away within 2 days. Call your healthcare provider if you get any side effect that bothers you or one that does not go away.

Uncommon but serious side effects include:

An erection that won't go away: If you get an erection lasting more than 4 hours, seek immediate medical help to avoid long-term injury.

In rare instances, men taking prescription ED tablets, including CIALIS, reported a sudden decrease or loss of vision or hearing (sometimes with ringing in the ears and dizziness). It's not possible to determine if these events are related directly to the ED tablets or to other factors. If you have a sudden decrease or loss of vision or hearing, stop taking any ED tablet, including CIALIS and call a healthcare provider right away.

You are encouraged to report negative side effects of prescription drugs to the FDA. Visit www.fda.gov/medwatch or call 1-800-FDA-1088.

CIALIS does not:

Cure ED
Increase a man’s sexual desire
Protect a man or his partner from sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV
Serve as a male form of birth control
CIALIS is available by prescription only. For additional information, talk to your healthcare provider and see full Patient and Prescribing Information.

Which ginseng do you use? Many years ago a coworker picked some up for me, gave me a great energy boost (Not sexually related energy!) until they ran out. I never kept the container and have never found the same results with any other ginseng I have tried.
