When I was a kid, this was the wine we went after:

In my day it was the cheapest wine available at $1.05 bottle.

One thing we can never find now is your Mothers cooking from a certain time period.
We would come home to a home cooked meal at lunch and dinner.
Stews, soups, chili's, roast beef dinner and Yorkshire pudding, home made pies.

It tasted better when you were a kid.
Amen to that.

All the great dishes that women (and some men) that I knew growing up made every day.

Fresh made pastas, homemade sausages and soppresatte, authentic pizzas, etc.

My nonna's gnocchi WERE THE BEST!

Then there was the wine and grappa. Sadly, once these great Italian immigrants passed away their food was gone. No matter how I and my generation try to replicate what they did, its just not the same.

I guess this applies to all cultures and not just Italians.........but I remember what Big Pussy said to Paulie in the Sopranos,

'We taught the world how to eat!'

Just sayin.

I'm pretty good at stuff like that. My grandma taught me her secrets. ;-)

In this busy world of take out and prepackaged meals this is rare.

Maybe you should add a new menu to your menu;)

1hr sit down to a home cooked meal by MissCroft. The additional hr of sex before hand would be optional.

Actually if you include MSOG I could bang you on the dining room table for dessert!

OMG, I used to love that stuff.
Still around but hard to find.

There are a couple of candy shops on Highway 11 near Weber's, one on each side of the road, and a lot of the stuff mentioned here are still available at them.
Those places are great, we have a few in Winnipeg as well. I try and pick something odd from the past to put in with Christmas presents for all of the rugrats I buy for. What 5 year old doesn't love poprocks.

Back in college there was an old ditty that went, 'Come Alive for a $1.05', it was the going price for Gimmly Goose.
