I'm talking about tracking people idiot. Thanks for showing you didn't read the article.
you explicitly said taking pictures via wifi. How is anybody supposed to understand you when you have the communication skills of an embryo?

taking pics via wifi
also the same theory applies to your irrelevant article. why would anyone with a half a brain expect any sort of PRIVACY on a PUBLIC wifi network? thats like expecting privacy on public transit because you decided it was a good idea to start jacking off on the bus. go back to your corner.

No one will force you to have or use a smart phone. If you don't like them, don't use them. Unless you have the emotional maturity of a three-year old, it shouldn't bother you if someone else is using them.

So with your logic you see nothing wrong with someone constantly on their phone in a movie theater, or the person sitting across from you at a restaurant being constantly on their toy... Or the idiot on a bus yapping loudly into their phone as if they want everyone else to hear them yapping...

If you having the reasoning skills of a three-year old you might make such a silly connection. Adults on the other hand will generally understand the difference between someone making a noisy disturbance and someone silently using an electronic device.

watch people walk around staring at phones bumping into shit. the zombie apocalypse is upon us but they are only brain dead.

go out for breakfast and see who is talking and who is staring at their phone.

i took my mother out for dinner last night for a celebration of sorts and i witnessed a couple sitting staring at their phones, the couple they were waiting for showed up and sat down with little acknowledgment and sat in silence while the couple that invited them out stared phones. finally the second couple to arrive started talking among themselves as the first couple couldn't out their phones down.

i will say it again. the zombie apocalypse is upon us.
Yep, it's dumbing people down. People worried about their celebrity tweets and what Kim K. is wearing or doing, really??

I saw a family of 3 in the lounge of my friend's apartment, ALL 3 on their cell phones, mother, father and son.
I just asked them "are you guys texting each other?", of course the father laughed in a shy manner and said no, we're just--- and he just mumbled in broken English. I couldn't believe it.

Johnhwnry and Blueboy can shut up. Intrinsic has a point here that i`ve stated in another thread.

People are letting tech make them act stupid. No surprise some of those people obviously with the same mindset as those he talks about are dissing my posts here.

Far too many people use them as a means of avoiding important things that need to be done,...just an out for irresponsible adults and kids,...

So these losers with their smart phones come upon a couple fighting on the street. First the man crashes his car in the hopes to kill them both but when that does not work he chases the woman and tries to kill her before kiling himself via stabbing. The idiots instead of trying to help the women decide to stand there and film it?!!

What the fuck!!!

Fuck this generation obsessed with their smart phones and then using said devices to fame whore themselves. I'm geting sick of these people thinking filming everything everywhere they go just because their phones have a camera or vid player. I had a feeling this shit was gonna happen back in the early 2000s when i was in a ttc bus one nite and a kid just walked up to the driver and asked: "Can i take your picture?" The driver i remember said no and i remember the pissed look he had on his face. I started thinking to myself back then.. 'it's goona get alot worse once most of thse phone have cameras in them..' And lo and behold shit has hit the fan thanks to the sites like twitter and instagram being available.. There was a women recently that blogged about her eating nothing but Starbucks for a whole yr.. and just this week another stupid idiot blogged about her giving birth at home, putting her pics of the birth online. Another loser draws on bananas. All these peole hope to accomplish at the end of the day is to draw attention to themselves in the hopes of that 15 min of fame for doing something stupid.

Don't get me started on 'selfies'. Posting pics online of what you're about to eat or drink or what you're about to buy or bought just because you can and for some stupid reason think anyone cares is just idiotic.

So smart phones are the problem with this generation ?

Not the generation of the CEOs of corporations like Nokia , Blackberry , IBM , Apple, Oracle .... its todays kids ?

How about what these same kids are producing over at Stanford , UCLA , and MIT ( would love to see you debate those kids ! )

And all this from your ivory tower on TERB , what does TERB stand for again ?

There's a big difference between these people and the inconsiderate, rude, self-absorbed, narcissists described above.
Get off the subway during rush hour, and some idiot in front of you is tying to walk and text at the same time.
Stand in line at the bank, and the idiot in front of you doesn't notice the next teller is available because his head is buried in his phone.
Try to fix your coffee at Starbucks, and - wait for it - some asshat is standing in front of the milk station texting, or standing doing the same in front of the fucking door as you're trying to leave.

I could cite a million more examples, but I would hope by now the point has been made.

Perhaps hard for you to believe but it's true. Not everyone's first language is English.

If you have a point, which appears unlikely, try to articulate what you really mean. Criticizing someone's English just reminds us of your own messed up thinking process and does not win you any points from people who don't have their heads up their asses. (What that means, because clearly you lack the ability to understand complex concepts, is that you and Ed are a minority of two who think each other to be relevant.)

I understand your points ( no need for another million examples ! ) but my issue is to look at the good , rather than the bad . I like the good that social media , and cell phones have brought us , I love the whiz kids at Universities , I love 3D printing - for God sake , they just printed a mouse heart !!!!! Stem cell research , I can give you another 1 million examples too !

Its kind of like praying to the smokestacks , and thanking capitalists for what we have accomplished , rather than the one million kids riding the TTC , who " bug" you !

Hey thanks , but ET is just a grumpy old dude perhaps who wants to go back to " back in the day " , when everything was pure and innocent . Children were to be seen and not heard , straps in school , different water fountains based on skin tone , woman not voting , Jews not allowed on the beaches in Toronto , or even before the US Constitution was written ! Great times , where folks lived to 35 !

Me , I love today , adore the brilliance of the smartest kids in history , love the internet .

But I do support fully the right of ET to post away and debate !

But you love the selfies that the gorgeous beauties post on TERB , correct ? Or just the pictures , maybe not selfies . Cause they benefit your penis , right ? Therefore thats acceptable " in your world " , right ? But little kids irk you cause they instagram their pizza at dinner to their friends , thats bothersome to you , my lordship ?

Expecting people to have some basic courtesy/common sense is a far cry from living under a dictatorship.
Sure, there are no laws concerning social etiquette and common courtesy. That doesn't mean behave as you want with no regard for anyone else.

But that is exactly the problem with people today - not just kids: they live in a 'me' generation where a world revolves around them, with not even enough situational awareness to know when they're disturbing or impinging on anyone else.
