Easy junior, your not as deep as you think you are, pretty well most everyone on TERB has you pegged.
The tories and libs never cared about vets after they were no longer of use in thier wars, leaving the NDP to clean up the after math.

Sure, how much time have you spent in the presence of veterans listening to what they have to teach us? Probably not much, if they wen't buying drinks. If that was the case there would be no VA or the hospitals like Sunnyside.

it looks like this thread[along with other threads] has degenerated to a pissing contest between Blackrock and lovehobby............the fact of the matter is that Harper is dissing the one group that goes to the polls and votes, and generally, the over 55 crowd votes for him......also the matter of the Post office, cutting off home delivery and then the CEO justifies by saying seniors want more excercize....ya collecting your mail trying to manouever around snow banks, icy side walks, in -20 degree weather............the Cons are playing with fire...............and dont all you right wing nut bars pontificate that its a great way of saving $ for the tax payers, by changing the visits to Service canada offices.. because closing 7 or 8 visiting centres probably cost a barely a fraction of the veterans affairs budget.................one last thing, Insidious Von is right fantino is a wretched POS, who fits right in with Harper,s god awful Cabinet..
No one is limiting others from participating. I'm surprised that Frank has piped in, as he said he would in a past thread. Harper has governed using a meat cleaver, all in the name of balancing the budget by the next election, no thought given to the short or long term consequences. Fantino is out of his depth, period.

the union did fly them, yes..but where is there any evidence they gave them "talking points"...according to you fantino was late, fact...so the union "set up" him being late?..are you on cheap blow?............so if im to determine who has the back of the Vets, whom do i choose,? a union representing their interests or julian fantino?, hhmm touch choice...
I don't deal with Veteran's Affairs often. I'm a young (38 year old) and able bodied Veteran who served in the early 1990s during the Liberal downsizing and restructuring of the military. So I'm not one of the guys who NEEDS Veteran's Affairs but I know plenty who do. And most of them get help only after a long protracted struggle with the existing bureaucracy, and sometimes the help they wanted comes too late if it ever comes at all. And that's with the agency who specifically is charged with dealing with us. Service Canada? It'll be far, far worse as those people haven't an inkling of veteran's needs nor care to learn - they'll just shove into the same box of indifference everyone else gets.
As to politics, members of the military are not overwhelming Conservative voters nor are they overwhelming Liberal voters. I'd say it's pretty divided equally between indifference and support to any of the three major parties (almost no support for any of the other parties). If anything, members of the military tend to avoid politics until out of the service and even then, they are fairly disenfranchised from the whole process.
