Not just a job!

Gentlemen, I would like you all to know that being an escort is not just a "job" to me and presumably most of the other women who have willingly entered this industry. (not referring to those unfortunate women who are being trafficked)

The main reason that I considered becoming a sex provider in the first place is because I genuinely love both sex and being sociable. For someone like me, there could not be a better way to occupy myself and provide for my family's needs. One of my favourite quotations is that the happiest people on earth are those who both figure out what it is they love to do, and then figure out a way to get people to pay them to do it! It seems to me that I have indeed stumbled upon that!

When I welcome you at the door, I truly am glad to see you. I work hard to make my incall a place that is not just clean and comfortable, but is filled with things that please the senses. Frankly, it is much nicer than my own home. It makes me love being there, and I hope it adds a nice dimension for you, too.

I love getting to know you, to the degree that you are open to that. I am interested in the person whom you are, and the things that are affecting your day. I love and enjoy a witty sense of humour and repartee. I love watching your transition into a state of relaxation and contentment by the end of our time together.

It always surprises me when I get comments such as: you seem so real, I feel like we have had a real date, I love your honesty and openness. But some of the comments in threads here on terb have downright shocked me about how some men perceive our involvement with our guests; comments such as our not wanting to look at their ugly faces, wanting to "get it over with quickly," about our "tolerating" it. That's just not the way it is at all.

And the sex itself--it is definitely not just you who enjoys it! I am not a pretender. You will see by the stiffening of my nipples, by the swollen wetness of my pussy, the pulsing of her walls and squirting of her fluids when I climax that a good time is sincerely being had. Sometimes I have almost felt guilty taking money for it! :) But the truth of the matter is that I have the same bills to pay as everyone else, and so I do need to accept the money. On the other hand, all this is probably why I am typically very generous with my time, as I am very rarely in a hurry for you to leave.

Of course, I can only speak about my own experience, but gentlemen....I want you to know that most women who entered this profession of their own volition are very likely fully enjoying it!

"That's what prostitution, in many cases, is all about," he said. "This is abusing women, turning them into, not only human trafficking (victims), but into drug (addicts), into removing sometimes their own identity and using them in a way that is despicable."

The above quote is from a Minister of the Harper government. Please email him and tell him he is so wrong.

I have been toying with the idea already.

Typical Conservative bullshit! The government has no right to interfere in the activities between two consenting adults whether money is exchanged or not. It is insulting to all the ladies out there who freely participate in this industry that this minister essentially labels them addicts. I wonder if this minister has even had good sex before...if so, I doubt the activity would be labelled as despicable

Did you write this? Kinda switching in areas to the third person.

Kidding aside, I would caution when speaking for "most" or the majority although enjoyed your perspective on the industry as you see it and representative of your personal viewpoints.

Working in Ottawa, I'm wondering if your client base differs greatly than other areas...?

You might have some insider "pull" factor. ;)

Indeed, I did. The "her" refers to my pussy. ;-)
Known affectionately by my regulars as "my hungry lion!"
Yes, I know... Hence why I said you might have some "inside" pull. lol

tongue and cheek.

Someone without gutter head would think your talking about their snatch ;) or someone was speaking for you when reading it lol

I can just imagine it, if you sent the Justice Minister that letter and he had a female secretary... OMG ! ha ha ha

Exactly! I, personally, only have one addiction, and that is merely to diet coke. I hate that they label us that way! Drugs aren't even a part of my life, and I only drink socially. Personally, I think the media has created the image of us as drug-addicted desperados. It is sooooo far off base!

And I am not just a "John."

I can get laid if I want to, as long as I am willing to get into a "relationship," have someone live in my house, depending on me for support and offering the same to me - I don't need it. In the last 4 months, I have had at least four opportunities, without even trying. But I sleep best by myself, I am self supporting emotionally, and I have enough money set up to be able to pay for care in my feeble years, because I have always been responsible for myself.

I like being able to have female friends, without an SO to get jealous. If I find myself sleeping with a friend, they know the story going in, no problem. If there is a problem, re-evaluate the friendship. I am a great friend, I can be counted on to give what I can when needed, etc. But if someone "NEED needs" me, they are asking me to do something they can only do for themselves. People have to like and support themselves, emotionally, socially, financially. I can help, but I can't really support anyone else if they can't do the basic stuff themselves.

I don't want kids. Who needs that stake in the future? If I marry, I am expected to "spring off." No fucking way am I getting into that trap. I am happy that others like to have little humans chewing at their ankles, but it isn't for me. I have cats to do that.

I like being able to choose from a variety of possible experiences. Big breasts are nice, so are small ones. I can choose someone taller than I am, or smaller. Etc, etc, etc. It IS a consumer orientation, but society gives me the option, I'm taking it up.

And, even though it is a commercial transaction, I can care about my provider. I can offer a comfortable and stimulating experience, admire them without trying to claim them for myself, make them laugh, and give them orgasms. What could be better than having a laugh and an orgasm with a man who is paying top dollar for the privilege of providing it? I know that most every provider I have seen over the last few years had a nice time with me, and some have had a very good time.

If the law gets all fucked up, and I get caught, this is what I will have to say for myself. I know that it won't fly with some people, and probably some of my friends, but in the end, I'll pay my fine and get on with my life.

I don't need the hobby, but I like it, a lot. And while I'm not going to shout from the rooftops unless I am forced there by the authorities, I am happy with myself, my choices, and the prospects for a happy life going forward, meeting lovely ladies and sharing time and cash with them.

Thanks Summer, great post.

I have always found it interesting that the government and other proponents of moral controls have no problem with a woman renting out her arms, shoulders, back and legs to carry dishes to and fro in a restaurant for a few crummy bucks an hour, but as soon as she wants to rent out her breasts and vagina for 200 bucks it becomes a crime that must be stopped at all costs.

Besides didn't the supreme court's ruling on abortion already declare that a women's reproductive decisions were her own?
Prostitution is just a possible version of the beginning of that reproductive cycle.

OP seems like a very level-headed sp. Think our society is behind the times. Legalization of prostitution should have been done many years ago!

Excellent post! While I did edit it down for quoting purposes you made many points that resonate with me. I have only seen a handful of girls but there is one in particular whom I never would have met if not for the hobby. The fact that our relationship is a 'commercial transaction' makes no difference to me whatsoever and I am still thankful to have made her acquaintance. I treasure the time I've spent with her, do my best to make her comfortable with me, treat her well and I think she appreciates it and enjoys my visits. If she doesn't she does a good enough job faking it that it doesn't matter. The short breaks from reality are very welcome in my life and I savour every minute we are together even though these minutes pass far to quickly.

Perhaps this is something the government/general public needs to understand. Yes, human trafficking and pimping needs to stop. I support that cause wholeheartedly however when there is a relationship between two consenting adults, regardless of whether said relationship is a commercial activity it is no business of anyone's but the parties involved.
