I met/had a call with a man (we wont use gentlemen) who while I was getting out of the car drove off with my e n t i r e purse on top of smashing my head on the open car door on take off. From cellphone, to passport to everything inbetween on top of my own stupidity an entire 2weeks wages.

For what its worth, I have his name, cell, email, ip address, handle and first half of lisc until further investigation.

I will personally out myself to get this resolved. Enough is enough.

I am sorry about this unfortunate situation. That sucks that he took your passport because now you have to go to the passport office and explain how your passport was stolen. That is lots of time wasted. If I had won the $50 million this week, I would have reimbursed your lost wages.

Sorry to hear. Thats terrible!

Unfortunate reality is even with a cell phone, if it's pay-go hard to prove who he is, a car can be borrowed and email can be hacked, handles on review boards can have multiple people with the password.

Often someone who does what you have experienced is either really, really stupid OR has covered his tracks making it nearly impossible to prove.

You'd have a better sense of accuracy, but from personal experience- sometimes a situation like this is to actually out you and obtain your info. Which if he does have that info, ensure you do follow through with the investigation, and hope charges are laid.

If he has your info, and you are prepared to "out" yourself, get a restraining order to ensure there isn't further reprisal and repercussions if anything should happen .

Hopefully you are able to find out who he is to ensure you are able to protect yourself.

Change your work name, phone number and pictures to ensure he and/or others do not have access to you, possibly putting you in more danger.

Amen! Nicely stated. Too bad I don't have your charm. If I were a girl I do fall in love with you.

Please be advised that you have to report your stolen passport to the police in addition to the passport office. I'm sure you've already called them, but please make sure you advise them of the stolen passport.

Oh Candice, I only found out about this when I logged into Terb this morning (I haven't been out here for the entire holidays). Sent you a Christmas greeting via email but I now understand that you couldn't reply.

You have to be extra careful girl with unknowns. Apparently, there are still bad johns out there, despite your screening process.

You can still go to the police. Please give them all those details. They will get that low-life creep (if only my surname was Soprano).

If there's anything I can do, let me know.

If you're uncomfortable talking to LE, contact the special victims unit. They're super SP friendly & genuinely want to help, in my experience.

I'm sorry this happened to you Candice. Theft of your belongings is bad enough, but what's with the bashing in the head!?

I guess that's a tough lesson no to carry too much ID on you. Passport, health card and SIN card really don't need to be carried around unless you need them. Don't even put the information in your phone. Identity theft is a big problem these days, so you have to super careful. The only ID you really need on you is driver's licence or Ontario photo card if you don't drive. Put everything else in the safety deposit box. The small monthly fee is worth the peace of mind.

It's a real hassle to replace multiple ID cards. I had a friend that had to do just this because his wallet was stolen with SIN, health and driver's licence and he didn't bother to renew his passport for over 5 years. It took almost 9 months to get everything back to normal because you need some form of photo ID (and all his were gone) to get a passport.
