only if your ugly. I used to be a street magician once. lots of teenage girls approached me offering to kiss if I show them the secret of the trick. I turned down them down. I'm talking about 10 - 13 yo.
Pedophiles are attracted to pre pubescent children which is a child (not one who has curves, skin tight clothing, big cleavage and looks as if she can pass for 18). So hop off high horse.
My point was simply that the term pedophile gets thrown about so often when it does not apply. Pedophiles are sick, disturbed. Doubt the embarrassed OP would fit in that criteria.
Sounds like that guy who goes around trying to catch Johns in the act on his video camera and preaching about how terrible they are for exploiting women.
You don't have anything to be embarrassed about. I would have told the guy I have a problem with his sense of righteousness. One, her clothing drew your eye. Two, you didn't have time to register her age. Three, it's not as if you made any advances towards her. It's ridiculous that society would think you a pervert for that.
Uh, yes, teenage girls are purposefully suggestive in mannerism, language, dress and are asking for people to oogle them. That doesn't exactly exonerate the pedophiles though.

Teens who dress provocatively are doing a few things
1) trying to fit in with peers and media images
2) being different/rebelling from parents
3) attracting the attention of BOYS.... men are just a side effect.
I check out women all the time and I hate to say I notice tits and ass before age. That said if I know I shouldn't be looking I avert my eyes. I think the OP did nothing wrong.
I am a bit unsure about how to take rockslingers comment. I'm going to bet that his feeligns that young girls want his attention is in his head. Then again he could be dashingly handsome. Me personally I don't find myself in places with many teens to notice things like that but I'm pretty average so not surprised.

Are you sure that is what is happening ? Many young girls might not be aware of any overt sexuality and are just trying to friendly with a 'respectable' adult. The fashions that they copy from their favorite entertainers or school mates are fashion, independence and/or maturity displays - not in anyway an invitation for sexual escapades.
However, based on my own experiences - boys 15 + know exactly what they are suggesting to older attractive woman and pray their fantasy will be fulfilled.
Thankfully, my kids are many years away from me having to deal with this, but I would tend to agree with Rockslinger. According to me friends with teenage kids, girls are much more sexually aware and aggressive these days. They may not be actually inviting sexual engagement, but they may well be experimenting with attracting attention.

How was the OP to know the girl in question was 13? (If in fact she was only 13... no way of knowing, it could have been a comment by the big burly guy (maybe her father or uncle?), to make him feel guilty.

I even started a thread last year about this young girl who poked her head out of a stretched limo in public and yelled "You forgot to blow me". Then these were these 3 young ladies leaving their Summer jobs at the CNE who got on the bus and sat next to me and one of them pressed her bare leg against my bare leg (we were bith wearing shorts). Then there was the time I was watching a track meet and this young girl wearing short gym shorts sat on the same bench close to me and opened her legs. Then there was the time I was palying tennis next to a court where two young girls were also playing and the one on my side..................Then there was the time this 14 year old (says she) girl approached me on the street and asked me to take photos of her for a "school project". I said "no thanks" (no way I am taking pics of 14 year old girls).
all these examples are only sexual if you interpret them that way. yelling at you could have been jokes not to mention what girl says blow me and means it. kids even adults yell things out of cars. the bare leg is just a product of close quarters ive felt boob agaisnt me in hugs and crowded places it means nothing. the open legs might have meant something back when ankles were racy. the photo was more odd than a come on.
i question your line of thinking for reading these situations as sexual rather than just kids being silly and different times in terms of posture and personal space.
