Police chief says:

- they have the video;
- the contents of the video are consistent with what the media previously reported them to be;
- the video was examine forensically and found not to have been doctored

Those are pretty bold statements. Either Blair is telling the truth or he has had a life-time longing to find out what it's like to be on the wrong end of a defamation suit.
Did the police chief really say the things you claim?

From the star report I read, and the press report I listened to here is what the Police chief said:

“The video files depict images that are consistent with what has previously been reported” in the media, Blair said at a news conference on the heels of a release of documents used by police to obtain search warrants during their summer investigation.

Somebody's got to be thinking about a movie, seriously. lol

I can't imagine he'll run again but stranger things have happened. I also can't imagine the "video" will be shown to the public anytime soon, based on how quickly trials move in this province.
Ford is shameless and I believe he will continue to fight resignation.

Evan though it appaears he is high and using crack, he will not be charged. Even a first year law student knows that the cops have to have seized the crack and forensically analyzed it to obtain a conviction. No hope of conviction, no charge.

Also there is no law against associating with known drug dealers, murderers and low-lifes as Ford clearly did. So no conviction, no charge.

But he lied about the video and has now been caught and busted as a lying idiot who hangs out w drug dealers. So no more political career. No way he will ever be re elected in this city.

He will hang on just to suck the last dime of his salary from the taxpayers.

Methinks it's too late to use the "Who cares if I smoke crack" excuse.. That excuse was on the table a long time ago and he chose to go with "Reporters are maggots" instead.
LOl.. nicely done..

Your first two points are indeed correct. As to your third point.... Perhaps, perhaps, not. Your last statement has no basis in fact. Sincerely, Jon .

If you don't think they've jumped ship by the thousands today, you've smoked more crack than the Ford brothers. And that's a lot of crack! ;)
lol
Fucking idiot.

I like that these morons so clearly identify themselves - makes it easy to pick them out and ignore their opinions on other topics.
LOL... Too funny.

At least he can return to his previous job of sticking fridge magnets on cars.
Football coach is out.
Mayor is out, other then for those few who support crackheads who also lie that they'll lower taxes.

Clayton Ruby was just on City News suggesting the case was botched by police.

And he makes sense... With all these obvious deals going down, why did the cops not make an arrest and execute a search warrant at least once?

Because cops probably think the video is enough to get him out of office

Holy fuck, that's a long report. I started to read it all, but it got repetitive... and I've read enough.

Ford has lost all credibility. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, due to the lack of (available) concrete evidence, and because I was foolishly hoping a public figure elected by the citizens of this great city, would NOT be:

[*]so stupid to partake in such illegal activity
[*]be stupid enough to allow himself to be filmed doing so
[*]be stupid enough to get caught
[*]be stupid enough to deny such things when he did get caught

I guess my faith, (or rather lack thereof), in politicians remains intact.

What clinched it for me, were the statements from the police chief.

The Mayor should step down and own up to the citizens of this city.

Good on you for posting that. Some here haven't manned up.

Blair did say the investigation is ongoing, and the papers have noted that Ford has not been interviewed despite being the target of the investigation.

They also said they did forensics on the video on oct 29, so they could also be waiting on those results.

I get around.
This might be Halloween but it feels like Christmas.

I think Ford is done. He will be forced to resign. He is rapidly losing all support on council.
Yes I don't see how he can continue on. Real Conservatives on council - ie the conservatives who don't smoke crack - are going to want to distance themselves from him. As for the media...this is just beginning. A lot more info is set to be released.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I discovered the investigators witnessed repeated 'drops' between a suspected drug dealer and the mayor.

Probable cause would have seemed to be a reasonable and presumably legal motive to search.

He isn't going to be charged. Aside from not having physical evidence of crack, the police don't usually charge drug users. They usually only charge dealers.

They want to bust the people who sell drugs to politicians. I think Ford was the target of the investigation because they wanted to find out who he was buying from. That guy has now been charged with extortion.

However, the court of public opinion certainly weighing in on Ford smoking crack and then lying about it.

Possession is relatively minor. They just gave Lisi extortion charges today....
