You are preaching to the choir brother. parking taxes were one of the 'revenue tools' Rob refused to consider when the Province asked the City how it would pay for it's fancy-dancy empty subway.

Looks like Rob's going to hike property taxes instead.
Wait till his taxpayers get a load of that $2billion property tax bill.

All together now, "IT'S ALL ABOUT TAXES FOLKS. TAXES, TAXES TAXES!"

"A PROMISE MADE! ANOTHER PROMISED DELIVERED!"

VOTE ROB FORD ..... A FRIEND OF THE TAXPAYER!

Mr Rob Ford just didn't come up with this idea....the subways...for upcoming election votes. Rob Ford has been preaching subways since before he was elected Mayor.

I would say its the rest of Council....the Karen Stintz's ...of the world who have switched tunes and made recent adjustments to facilitate upcoming voting.

if we are talking principle here....Ford has stayed true...and has also found consensus in a property tax increase..which most taxpayers are comfortable with.

The vote switchers may not be voting on 'principle'

You cannot use 'principal' when referring to telemarketers, of which the robocalling variant is the lowest form, unless you attach "complete lack of …" or words to that effect.

FM, good post. I love how the Ford haters have spun this.

I have a friend who lives in the Junction and works down by Union Station. She regularly takes her bike to work as it's faster and less stress than the TTC.
Sorry Adam, I have to call bullshit!!!! I won't comment on how long it takes your friend to bike to work, but to say that biking anywhere in
the city is less stressful than sitting on a bus, streetcar or subway makes no sense.

I'll back up Adam on the point.
Sitting on the TTC you're at the mercy of the subway, stressing out about whether the subway/bus/streetcar will come in time.
On a bike, you control your destiny. Late, just pedal faster.

Sorry, Frankie, I call bullshit on this one.
Ford promised a subway on Sheppard paid by the private sector and no tax increases.
Instead we get a three stop gravy train, 30 years of taxes and a billion dollars for 6,000 riders a day.

And you've assumed you managed to get on the TTC at all. Try taking the subway from Riverdale up to Downsview at 6AM. No seats. Packed. Jammed. Makes having a bike to yourself and getting healthy seem very attractive.

No one has predicted that dim future era when Rob's (or Karen's if you want, but Rob's boasting it's his) subway might be that crowded. But the money to bury and run those trains empty for years coulda bought a few more buses, or miles of new track where they're needed. Or both.

Robocalls are telephone spam, only those who are utterly devoid of principle use them, because they only buy that second of your attention at tiny fraction of a cent and cheap is all they care about.

+1 Interesting how 'no new taxes' Ford is not only willing to break his promise to get elected again but has waged war on someone with the balls to call it as it is.
