It's not real court. There's a difference, and you and Fuji know it. The electorate only need to assess the person's record as a public servant. Not some newspaper story.
Thank God we can make up our minds about our public officials without having to put them on trial. Your comments have gone from dumb to dumber.

Ford is not innocent until proven guilty in the court of public opinion, thankfully. He has to prove to voters that he deserves their vote.

Which is true of ALL news articles. So when the newspapers reported that Stephen Harperv won last Federal Election you can call that hearsay too and say you have no proof he is Prime Minister.

That is how stupid you're argument is.
The difference being EVERY news paper and TV station reported that Stephen Harper won the last federal election, and millions witnessed it on TV, but ONLY 2 people at 1 newspaper (which is known to be heavily biased against the Ford family), saw a grainy video on a 2 in screen, of someone that may have looked like Ford, smoking something from a glass pipe... and they are reporting as fact many things that are merely assumptions at this point.... oh, and no one can produce the video.

And THAT is how stupid YOUR argument is.

They said David Price, the member of Fords staff that has been caught intimidating Go Transit workers and destroying public property, was involved in dealing drugs. It is my opinion that makes him, along with Doug Ford, a thug and a lowlife.

What is your opinion of drug dealers?

Not the same as stating that Ford's executive staff are thugs and lowlifes from their drug dealing days. How many people on Ford's staff? Just two? Are David Price and Doug Ford the only staffers?

Some are very bad, and some are not so bad or good.

Do you realize how ignorant you are? Maybe you need new glasses. Maybe you need to take a valium.

I said there are exceptions with respect to newspapers.

A report that states the obvious or is easily authenticated is not hearsay. An article that quotes or refers to out-of-court statements by third parties is hearsay.

If "actually only some of his staff are thugs" counts as a defense of Ford, then he sure doesn't need enemies.

The anonymous sources used by the Globe were carefully checked out by the editor. They are not anonymous to him. No more and no less hearsay than their report that Harper won the election.

You're taking my comment out of context. Of course we don't have to put them on trial.

There are voters who get distracted or swayed by the media or Ford haters like you, then there are those who just focus on a politician's official record, and want someone to do their job without bankrupting them.

I bet at worst Ford may have gotten a few grams of hash for his friends when he went to make purchases for his own private use. I do think he was a toker in his youth
It was way more than a few grams of hash for his buddies and it was definitely not just hash.

It was coke and a lot of it.

I know people who grew up with the Fords who told me about St. James gardens before all this broke.

I don't even know where that is but I heard about it all

I don't care what drugs he did as a kid... and don't really even care that Doug was a big time dealer. .. I have a friend who was a brilliant guy who was a big time dealer- we became friends because we are the same age and both educated and both felt a comradery in the fact that we did things that would lead people to assume things about us that are simply based on stereotypes of our "professions"

I dont care about the Fords' pasts but I do care about their hypocrisy, lack of transparency, and the people they surround themselves with now.

That pic says all that needs to be said

I know they are lying... I know their friends from the past- these guys told me details long before it was anywhere in the media but it all fits perfectly with what the Star and Globe reported... and that makes me hate them.

I am a hooker at the end of the day (not putting myself down that is what I would be called by many in society....)

I want to get into politics and I know my past will come out so I will ensure that I do something positive with what I've learned doing "this" and I will ensure that I am not a hypocrite while being honest. ...

Fuji, I even think that Price guy looks like a thug lol, but you called ALL his staffers thugs. Please don't exaggerate in your zeal to discredit Ford.

Jenn, we all have skeletons in our closet that we don't want to get out.

Ford's always been the same way with respect to his politics and positions. He's not perfect.

(And it's James Gardens. Nice place to have wedding photos taken too.)

xo

You come across as an educated and nice girl...a little naive but a nice girl. You want to change the world...so do most politicians before they get into politics. The ideas are big, the ideals won't be broken etc. I doubt you'll get elected...too much of a stigma attached to being a "hooker", but if you do, you will change. You will become what you hate because the power will get to you. It's addictive and it gets to all politicians. You will end up not so naive but you won't like what you become.

... thanks for the vote of confidence :p

But im pretty confident in what I believe... and I believe that experience creates empathy and understanding, and if tapped- better leadership..

Anyone who I care anything for knows what I do- not afraid of people's judgement.

If my own family accepts me... I am not afraid of strangers down the line. ...

And I value looking myself on the mirror without feeling ashamed. Power means fak all... money means fak all... not everyone is corrupt :)

This all just speaks of the Fords' hypocrisy.

Good question......especially about the credibility of them. Say of the variety who try to cash in on alledged videos?

And of internet "reporters" who did?

The thugs who tried to sell the video are drug dealing low life scum and as such are no better than the low life drug dealers Ford has on his executive staff.

The reporters on the other hand seem to be upstanding, trustworthy people with excellent reputations.

Gawker has paid the money out to charities now.
http://globalnews.ca/news/853594/gawker-donates-crackstarter-money-to-toronto-charities/

Now that guy is a class act. He had 200k and he could have absconded but he proved his integrity by handing it to charity. Absolutely trustworthy.

The difference being EVERY news paper and TV station reported that Stephen Harper won the last federal election, and millions witnessed it on TV,
Actually, the difference is that there are other parameters, such as the voting results, to verify the results of the election, not what the newspapers tell us.

Aside from the newspapers' meager attempt at smearing Ford, there are no ways to corroborate their innuendo.
