But if it saves just one life its worth it!

Actually, not to be cold but it isn't always worth it.

There is NO END to that line of emotional thinking nor any solution to save the next life.

The cost to society is complex.

In any case, if this driver ignored flashing red lights, a big red and white arm with flashing lights on it, what makes you think he would have stopped at a STOP sign?

I have not read anything about possble SPECULATION that the driver might have been texting.

The clues are there. Is a phone? That will no doubt be investigated.

I am more convinced than ever that smartphone usage while driving is going to continue to kill a lot of people. I've had a couple of close calls and now just don't even look at my phone when driving.

He wasn't talking about a stop sign. He was joking about banning buses and trains like gun fanatics argue that guns aren't the problem , it's people.

How do you know what i NEED?

I think that people dont NEED bus, train, bicycles, suvs, motorcycles, or houses...

And ive got plenty

Move to Syria. You'll need a gun there. If not, America is a pathetically dangerous country to be in too.

Dont need to move anywhere, i can own plenty of guns here, and a large portion of them arent even restricted.

if you go to the eaton center you'll need them

or a picnic

or perhaps yorkdale mall

You're a paranoid nut.

We don't need them in public places because other people don't carry guns, and such incidents are so far and few between, that we don't have to arm a whole nation.

Oh but this one is "an assault rifle" http://frontierfirearms.ca/firearms/black-rifles/dpms-panther-oracle-a3.html

and shouldnt be owned by anyone.

Mindless regulations like these will stop the next mass shooting eh?

I don't have an opinion on this rifle or have enough info about it to comment. Do you jerk off to these pictures? If it shoots single shots like any hunting long arm in Canada, and can't be converted to automatic or multi-shot semi-automatic, then I would imagine it's okay.

Anyways, we are WAY OFF TOPIC HERE so let's stop this discussion.

Just so i have this right..

When a mass shooting happens we need to ban all guns because this is getting ridiculous and we need to stop this.

But when someone suggest carrying a firearm to protect themselves from these mass shootings its all of a sudden something that happens so rarely that we dont need to protect ourselves and im paranoid?

Makes sense.

You have nothing so you insist on personal attacks

It functions exactly the same way as the non restricted one. However it is restricted because the general population aka people like you, know nothing about firearms and instead pretend to try and solve the problem by making one restricted and one non restricted.

for the record both are semi auto
both have capped magazines
both fire the exact same bullets

I never made a comment about restricted versus non-restricted in the first place. You comment about an American situation and then talk about Canadian regulations. You're all over the map. I still think your opinions are crazy. Go fire off some steam.

He is right. The rules are absolutely stupid and arbitrary. Those two rifles have the exact same capability, use interchangeable magazines with the exact same ammunition and exact same number of rounds. But one is based on the AR15 design so it is restricted, while the other has a different type of gas system and bolt mechanism so it is non restricted.
