Yup. I think. Although I would like to see Rajai back, I don't think it will happen. Goins looks promising, but it's way too early to tell w any of them yet.Anybody else liking this kid Goins at second? I know it early but he seems really composed out there.
I think Lind is gone. But I wonder about this. Melky as DH mainly and Gose up full time.
Could actually work.
Id rather have Rajai any day over Melky but Rajai is probably gone.Yup. I think. Although I would like to see Rajai back, I don't think it will happen. Goins looks promising, but it's way too early to tell w any of them yet.
The problem is, too many of our pitchers are injury prone. Brendan Morrow can never stay healthy. The list goes on with other pitchers we have: Drabek, Hutchinson, Santos, McGowan, Josh Johnson, Steve Delebar, etc. I can't think of another team that has that many arms with Tommy John Surgery. Tampa Bay on the other hand only had 1 pitcher that had TJ since like 6-7 years ago.If you check the figures, Buehrle and Dickey actually don't have bad seasons. They're both down close to 4.00 ERA and almost .500 in w/l. Not the way the season was supposed to have fared, but far from an awful effort by either.
But we have a new pitching coach, a new bullpen coach, a new bench coach, and a new manager this year ... and these injured players either have a history of injuries or were injured prior to the new coaches. ... Something tells me our pitching coach isn't doing their job handling our pitchers.
Our starting OF of Melky, Rasmus, and Bautista all injured.
I don't know about you Jenn. I still think if we had a better manager, and coaches, this team would be in a much better position. Look how good Bonafacio is with Kansas City. The Jays just doesn't utilize him to its full potential. But we have a new pitching coach, a new bullpen coach, a new bench coach, and a new manager this year ... and these injured players either have a history of injuries or were injured prior to the new coaches. ... Melky is off PEDs, Bautista and Rasmus are hard playing outfielders and HR hitters
... not the coaches' fault.
Hehe.I don't know about you Jenn. I still think if we had a better manager, and coaches, this team would be in a much better position. Look how good Bonafacio is with Kansas City. The Jays just doesn't utilize him to its full potential.
I know there's been so much support for Gibby. I want to know what good he has done despite the win/loss record?
As far as I'm concern, you can't fire the players. It's always either the coach or the manager that gets the ax.Hehe.
U were against the Dickey trade from day 1 amd you were probably right.
I haven't heard about how Bonafacio is doing but im happy to hear he's doing good.
The reat- we are all armchair GMs.... still dont believe we can blame them (especially Gibby) for everything.
I agree 100% with this.If I am a betting man,I bet you that Gibby will be back with the Jays next season. AA has already present his 3 years plan to get his team into the playoffs with Rogers management. Last spring,AA was probably thinking that Gibby would be the guy to make progress from the work of their bullpen. Then,AA took a gamble that the talent alone would take care of everything else on the field for him and Gibby. Well, the 1st year plan hasn't worked out as AA had hoped. So, now moving forward to the next stage AA is still comfortable working with Gibby, imo. By the end of this season I think AA will be man enough to blame everything had gone wrong on himself. AA will try to convince Jays fans that they are just a second baseman or a couple of SP away to be a contender again for next year. It is too late to work on the plan with somebody else other than the current manager,Gibby. Unless, AA is forced from the board to fire Gibby.
Stay tune.
yep,If you check the figures, Buehrle and Dickey actually don't have bad seasons. They're both down close to 4.00 ERA and almost .500 in w/l. Not the way the season was supposed to have fared, but far from an awful effort by either.
They all started badly.yep,
its been the other guys that killed us. Brandon Morrow, J happ, Ricky Romero and Josh Johnson
Happ has been inconsistent, but has often pitched very well.yep,

Can agree much of that except.....I have developed a very deep respect for Jennifer and her insight into the sad Blue Jays.
As a devoted Jays fan I have shed many tears this year, but it is time to forget about it and map out next season IMO

TRADE
Lind,Kawasaki (expensive Cheerleader), Arcenciba (has to be better out there!) Davis...this one I have trouble with as Rajal has flexibility and speed, but low in "smarts",Rasmus great defense low bat production when needed....and not the least...Bautista I see attitude creeping in and production slipping, for the first time defensive miscues....has a great "team trade friendly" contract.

Gibbons...keep but on a very short leash in the spring. He is a great media guy , but stops communicating once he reaches the dugout!
Mottole,give him sole hitting responsibility
