Perhaps the cop thought he was gang member and decided to waste him with 9 bullets but we don't know the facts. At the same time, they could have tazered him instead of having to kill him.
Tasers can still kill people, part of the reason why only Sergeants are issued Tasers is because of previous clusterfucks committed by the RCMP.

There really wasn't as much room as apologists like to believe. A knife wielding attacker can close distance of 21 feet in as fast as 1.5 seconds.
They didn't try to talk to him and keep him at bay. They fucked up IMHO. This wasn't a case of a guy charging cops and swinging with his blade. In 1.5 seconds, the cop can unload 3 bullets.

I don't get how the cop (Const. James Forcillo) is "devastated". He shot the kid 9 times from 10 feet away plus followed up with a taser. What did he think the outcome would be. The kid just needing a bandaid?

Yes, he was tasered as he tried to escape.

"On July 31, 2008, at 1:30 a.m., the suspect attempted to escape from the bus by breaking through a window. The RCMP arrested Li soon afterward. He was shot with a Taser twice, handcuffed and placed in the back of a police cruiser. Parts of the victim's body, placed in plastic bags, were retrieved from the bus, while his ear, nose and tongue were found in Li's pockets. The victim's eyes and a part of his heart were never recovered and are presumed to have been eaten by Li."

This guy was scarier than the kid and yet the cops handled the situation effectively without danger to themselves or other passengers nearby.
This is how proper cops who are not yellow bellied cowards do their jobs like professionals.

I think he is devastated that all the video evidence available will prevent him from hiding the truth and show the world that he killed that kid in cold blood.

Most police officers never shoot and kill a perp in their careers.

Hummer. He was yelling or screaming AFTER the 3 shots too. Either the victim was still clutching the knife somehow or tried to get up a tad, or the police officer was traumatized by his own action and freaking out.
So, in other words, perp still had the knife and was still a danger. Bang. Bang. Bang.

True enough, but there was no immediate danger ,
If the cop felt too close ,he could have backed off a little with plenty of time to shot if the kid charged at him.
Immediate? 4 seconds to dash and slash is all it takes, covering a lot of ground. As I said earlier, there has only been a very grainy 'short' video, no context or coverage leading up to end. I always thought the skin of the new streetcars was basically aluminium, could be wrong.

Pretty good analysis, but it just reinforces the notion that the cop didn't try to diffuse the situation at all except challenge the guy who clearly isn't thinking straight. (Maybe he should've said - hey, cool Blue Jay cap. So you're a fan? etc etc)
This video shows absolute and utter incompetence. A total lack of professionalism.

Do Toronto cops use hollow point bullets? The good is that they don't ricochet, the bad(?) is that they do incredible damage to a human body.
I believe only George Zimmerman uses hollow point bullets to "observe" over his neighborhood.

Yes they do, firstly to take down the perp and secondly so the rounds are less likely to exit the body and injure others.

Recent reports claim he exposed himself on the s/c, always was always armed with a knife and was a martial art s practitioner.

Yup, a sweet kid.
So what, still no reason to execute the kid in public. Maybe he was mentally ill. You frequent escorts, some people would consider you even worse then him. It never fails to amaze me that people are on this board and in this hobby and can be so judgemental on misbehavior by other.
