I am a scotch drinker. Lately, I have been adding a bit of sherry to my Chivas regal. I highly recommend it at the risk of making Blackrock13 spin and pirouette at the thought of drinking scotch any other way other than neat or with a splash.
Better? For such a subjective question I will respect your opinion as much as my own. "Cheaper" only in the sense that one costs less than the other. I don't often drink Scotch, but when I do, I prefer Glenmorangie.
