I have heard that it MAY be software related but most theories I have read are saying it is a hardware issue stemming from the plastic strip on the bottom housing the wifi antennae.Yes, they do. Apparently, it's due to a bug within latest version of OS X not an hardware issue.

Anand tech is reporting a software issue for wifi transfer speeds, they are apparently being throttled...

oh and before anyone uses the excuse that it's new technology, they should be aware that both the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 support 802.11ac wifi without any problems
