THAT WAS BANANAS!

5 Points. 24 Second. 2 of your 3 pointers come off misses, and O rebounds. That win for the HEAT was about the same for the Bruins over the leafs, other than game 6 vs game 7.

Why didn't the Spurs call time out when Ginobli had the ball with 10 sec left in OT.

Damn! Refs made it a game 7. Should have been a foul on ginobli at the end of the game.
Don't know if I necessarily agree with this. Remember SA was in a VERY good position late in regulation. Miami needed a couple of key offensive rebounds by Miller and Bosh and a couple of 3-balls just to get it into overtime. IF the officials were trying to make it a game 7 you would think they would have had more favorable calls for MIA in the 4Q to not put MIA in a position where they needed several clutch plays down the stretch in order to get the game to overtime.

But I love the Sharapova picture you got up !

Yeah, Spurs blew it in regulation but officials blew it in OT - that was definitely a foul on Ginobilli. And I have no idea why Pop didn't call a timeout with 10 seconds left. WTF.

I think I know why Pop didn't call the timeout . All series long Pop has been preaching pace. It is no secret that SA wants to play FAST and play with pace because of the respect they have for Miami's halfcourt defense. Wade MISSED the shot over Diaw and Kawhi Leonard got the defensive rebound. Suppose Pop calls timeout - that would allow Miami to set their defense . By not calling timeout SA has an opportunity to push the ball and possibly get an easy one in transition. And remember Miami's transition defense was sub-par the previous game. Now, had Wade MADE the shot then I suspect Pop may have called the timeout because it is hard to push the ball when you are taking the ball out of your own net (although we have seen SA push off of makes during this series - which speaks to my point about Pop wanting to push the tempo). But by pushing off the defensive rebound you have a chance to get a higher % shot in transition than you would if you were to call timeout and play against a set Miami defense.

That is my theory.

SA choked bigtime.. Pop made a bad call to take Tim Duncan out late in the game. This series should be over. Miami didn't win that game SA handed it over to them.

If your talking about about after Ray hit a 3 then your answer is Pop didn't have any more time outs left ...

Did they choke or did the old Spurs big 3 run out of gas ? Duncan left it all on the floor in the 1st half and was just gassed toward the end ... Bosh and Wade got to rest a lot in the the second half ...

No I think he is talking about after Wade MISSED the shot and Leonard got the rebound and passed it ahead to Manu with a little less than 10 seconds left in OT. I believe SA did have a timeout remaining at that point and I think Pop didn't call it because there was an opportunity to take advantage of a defense in transition (and the Heat transition 'D' hasn't exactly been stellar as we saw in the previous game). My guess is if Wade MAKES the shot then maybe Pop calls the timeout because it is harder to push when you take the ball out of your own net anyways (although SA has successfully done that in this series on a few occasions). Good idea NOT to call the timeout though as SA is well-coached and prepared for situations like that and you obviously have a better chance of scoring against Miami in transition than you do against a set defense which Miami would have had had Pop called a timeout. It is actually not that uncommon for coaches to not call timeout in a late game situation like that where they need a basket and where they have an opportunity to take advantage of a defense in transition.

I think coaching was a factor too...

a) I thought Pop maybe left Timmy and Tony on the bench a little too long to start the 4Q as Miami started to make their push

b) Spo made a great adjustment taking Wade off the floor and adding another shooter . The lineup of Rio, Allen, Miller, James & Birdman provided great floor-spacing and gave more room for James to operate. Lebron's offensive explosion occurred with that lineup which is a very good offensive lineup for them because it gives Lebron more driving lanes (something he hasn't had a lot of this series)

Wow, Game 7's intensity matches the last game. Miami Heat is on fire from long range, but Spurs still make it tight and close.

LBJ and Battier can't miss a shot. LBJ has 5 3's while Battier has 6.

Lebron might just be the best player in NBA history. He's 28 years old and had 9 all-star appearances, 4 MVPs, 2 NBA championships, 2 Finals MVPs, 2 Olympic Gold Medals, and Michael Jordan was 28 when he won his first championship.

Can we not forget one player played 3 years of college ball and one went right out of HS before we list NBA accomplishments at the same age point .
