Yes, Connie Mack was one of the founders of the American League, and was the both the team owner and the manager of the Philadelphia Athletics from 1901 - 1950. Mack owned at least part of the team from 1901 -1954, before the franchise was moved to Kansas City in 1955, and subsequently to Oakland, in 1968.
