Has there ever been a mayor of any major city who has been a bigger laughing stock?

Ford has made Toronto the butt of jokes worldwide. You cannot travel anymore without hearing crack jokes when your say you are from Toronto.
You really think Toronto is the centre of the universe? I'll bet most of the people from other countries don't know who Ford is.

Or if they know who Ford is, they don't give a damn to this gossip.

They all have their own, more-pressing, "presidential cigar" issues on their hands.

Seeing as his career and reputation are at stake I don't think it is unreasonable to require absolute or very close to reasonable proof.

Having that video, which was the basis of this whole story, would and should have gone a long way. At this point, the video (seen only by people who are indisputably employees of an anti-Ford newspaper) has yet to come to light.

The issue started because of the video. The video is needed. Without it, there is no issue. All other allegations are innuendo and circumstantial.
Well written Shack.

Well, judging from the jokes I hear when I say I'm from Toronto, I guess at least at this moment you're wrong. He's made the news world wide.

Ok, taking you to task here..... just how many new people have you met since the scandal, and of them, how many really brought up the Ford crack scandal?

Seriously.

I am on a couple other forums, do a fair amount of business in the US with pretty informed, bright, successful people and NOT ONE has even so much as mentioned it. Three have asked about good places to eat while they are visiting, but not ONE has even breathed a word of Ford.

Thats because none of them are from Fuji Nation.

No this is untrue. In Germany at least, Ford is referred to in magazine stories as the Crack Bürgermeister.

I said that.

Fuji Nation people do, tripping over each other, to report it.

(They have to sell papers and magazines and draw TV and radio audiences...........just to survive.)

I was in vegas a couple of weeks ago. Talking to a lot of people from all over. Including Canada. No one knew about it. I was there for a week. Talked to all kinds of people in various casinos. From all walks of life. Not a peep.

Cripes compared to London and Montreal...this is pure navel gazing.

About three in the last week, two from Europe, one from Asia. Not new people I have just met, people I work with overseas who brought it up making small talk.

Don't forget to tell them about our world class casino and Kensington Market without a Wal-Mart. Look, people still flock to Mexico even though they know that some of them will come back in a box.

Nobody from the "presidential cigar" or "Gawker" country?

Now we get report 3 persons from Fuji Nation, confirmed by Fuji, bringing it up IMHO we can go ahead and totally ignore the comments and observations from the non-haters like SchlongConery and Butler 1000.

Agree. It is not just his career but he is also a human being with kids and a wife, this constant demonizing of him and Doug has already triggered at least one or more death(?) threat. Human decency demands that his accusers have "bulletproof" evidence.

Why the haters want to worry about that?

They were unable to defeat him the last election so they gotta do what haters gotta do.

You know if they don't they may not beat him next election either.

If I spent more time in my job dealing with the US, sure, probably would have, but I spend most of my time dealing with people in Europe and Asia.

To be fair, I think they were saving up their Ford story until they talked to me, just to have something to rib me about. But they certainly knew about it, and they certainly had a good laugh.

OMG, are you guys still at it:frusty:? Not surprised that Fuji is in the middle of all this but have never seen OldJones and Jennifer so agitated on any subject. All it takes is another post or two from the Homo Rabbit to make this a complete train wreck.

Anyway, please carry on.
Couldn't stay away, could you? Nor can I, there are just so many posts trying tell the world about Rob's virtues and innocence that amount to logical train wrecks. Some days I click on New Posts and wonder at what passes for thought in some circles.

But Ford himself was a write off well before the election. Everything since is just illustration; only thing exciting about that is picking new adverbs and adjectives for the ever more shabby clownshow.

I'm not sure what the denizens of Vegas gambling dens have to offer as benchmarks of widespread public awareness, but a day after the Gawker post broke the story (which our very own Phil C. picked up and posted here just a couple of hours later, easily beating the Star to spread the so-called accusation) a Taiwan animation studio had made and posted their savagely funny Ford piece (yung-dood posted it in #46) all within one day.

Maybe your observation says more or as much about gamblers as it does about the interest in the story. Jon Stewart certainly doesn't make his living running stuff no one cares about. For that matter neither do our local papers, and media outlets, or Gawker for that matter. Phil can speak about his opening post for himself, but we haven't filled all these pages since out of disinterest.
