are the cops not involved in looking for the video ? i would think the cops would like to bring the drug dealers off the streets.
I don't know if the cops are looking for the video . . . do you know if they asked the reporters for the names of people with the video?

Hey, is The Star beginning to backtrack a bit??!! HHHhhmmm........

It now *appears to be crack*, and the Star can't *verify the video’s authenticity*

http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2013/06/04/rob_ford_crack_scandal_video_might_be_gone.html

Cook has watched the video once, while two Star reporters, Kevin Donovan and Robyn Doolittle, watched the video three times.

Both say the video shows Ford inhaling what appears to be crack cocaine from a glass pipe and making homophobic and racially charged remarks. The Star couldn’t verify the video’s authenticity

If he smokes crack, a drug test is useless by now.

He cut all his hair off.... If he hasn't partaken since he chopped his hair, there's no way he'll test positive.

It's pointless.
Yeah. Well, if he hasn't partaken since he chopped off all his hair, then he isn't a crack addict. Crack addicts can't go for a few weeks without smoking crack.

I guess if he smoked crack only ever the once on the video that makes him an enormous idiot, but I already knew that he was an enormous idiot--that doesn't really change anything.

It does really matter if he's a crack addict, and like I said, if he's a crack addict, crack is something he's accessing at least weekly, if not every day or two.

if the star people know where these guys are and are not telling the cops where they are couldn't they be arrested for obstruction or some shit like that ?
Nobody has been charged, there is no case, and so far as I know, no official police investigation. So no.

My guess is that Ford bought the video, and that is why it is "gone".

Any hair on the body can be used, his eybrows and lashes for example I don't think he's had cut .

Seriously? When was the last time you saw a 400 lb. crackhead? Cocaine users don't eat. I suppose he may have smoked some munchie hash that his bro sold him...

Yup, and even if the test only looks back 2-3 weeks that would be good enough for me. If he can go 2-3 weeks without smoking crack, he's not an addict.

These are the 3 possibilities IMO (from most likely at the top, to least likely at the bottom):

1. Video exists, but its Ford smoking hash from a pipe.
2. Video exists, and its Ford smoking crack.
3. video never existed, Star reporters are lying.

I dont trust The Star, I think maybe they knew it was hash in that pipe, but reported it as crack because those trustworthy drug dealers told them so

Time to sue the fuck out of the Star.
Yes, I am really surpized he hasn't launched a suit already . . . almost makes me think he may be in the video.

Shouldnt it be incredibly easy to wire that $200K to these Somali's??

I'm not familiar with US law, but here's just some of the ways I came up with:

1. Meet Gawker under a bridge in Brooklyn and make the deal there in cash.
2. Wire money to Cayman islands, fly over there, exchange the video tape and Somali's collect $200K in cash.
3. Set up 2 fake paypal accounts, one for Somalis' and one for Gawker. Pretend you're selling something antique thats worth $200,000, and make the exchange that way.

Could this not work?? I dunno, I'm asking

That is called money laundering and it is a serious crime.

A newspaper Paying someone for a video is not a crime at all.

Offering it to Ford for$200,000.00 would be extortion.

Ever hear the story of the old bull and the young bull?

Patience...

If I were the subject of this smear campaign I would let everyone like The Star have plenty of time and rope to make it clear that The Star's motive in it's totality was to cause me to lose my job and ruin my reputation. Not just investigative "reporting" .

He has two years to bring an action.

Time is on his side, legally speaking.

So these events have been reported in the papers (not just the star, and some only by sources).

Rob Ford knew the location of the video
Price was asked to get the video (which was why police were reportedly called in)
Ford claimed 'the video doesn't exist'
Gawker says the video is now through their contact

Could Ford have destroyed or had destroyed, the video?

Just not politically . . . I would imagine the media will be watching his every move over those next two years. Of course that won't be a problem if he is'nt doing illigal drugs.

Obviously the cost of loosing this legal action you propose would be very great to the Star, Globe, CNN, CTV, Gawker etc. so I would imagine full time private eye will be joining Rob at KFC.

I care whether he smokes crack, which is why I think he should take a drug test.
So he should take a drug test because you care?

Now who's being kooky?
