4000 signed the city hall visitors book saying they'd show up, but I heard, could be wrong, about 400 showed. figured. All talk and no go.
There's a City Hall visitor's book that you sign to say you'll come back for a partisan rally? Wow!

Cities in Ontario are prohibited by law from running deficits.

Apparently CNN says differently. They had coverage on Sunday even interviewing a Newspaper editor in chief, I believe the G&M. His main poi nt is they didn't wan to buy it because they didn't want to give a drug $200G's to be used for who knows what. It just didn't sit right.

As said way back in the thread, where's the 'look a like' advertised just before the video was 'discovered'? It would appear two reporters may have been taken and now are stuck with it, but many others are just salivating at any anti Ford jello to throw at the wall of public opinion.

The province's debt burden has nothing top do with the topic, although some of us recall that in the early days when he was pretending he could be a Mayor, Mr. Respect For The Taxpayer went up to Queen's park to ask McG to make it even bigger by giving Toronto a 'free' subway. The concept that there's only one taxpayer was either too difficult for him, or he was thinking we weren't paying enough attention to know.

Sorta like the difference between stuff as important—and different—as debt and deficit. How do we know the words of your opinion actually are what you meant when you mix the two of them up?

Cities cannot run deficits in Ontario, but just like you borrowing to buy your house, they can use debt to finance capital works of lasting value. Roads, subways, sewers. I'm sure you believe that's A Good Thing. Let's hope you're using your non-capital budget to keep your house better repaired then the Cost Cutters at City Hall have done with the Gardiner out of the operating side they keep stingy-ing out on. But heck we'd need to raise taxes for that.

With all the Government waste both City and Provincial, it makes you wonder how much they'd actually need to raise taxes.

More waste right here.

Not that anyone who's ever commissioned a custom app. ever said, "Wow, early and below budget!!". How long did it take MicroSoft to swipe Windows from Xerox and get it <hem> 'perfected'?

And on the 'how long' measures: How long between Rob winning his War on Waste and the first of his very own tax hikes? It's already in the works. How long before he's actually found enough of that gravy to deliver the Land Transfer Tax repeal he promised? Coming up on three years and he's only "examining" a 10% reduction.

Is waste that really hard to find? Must be, because I have yet to hear a pol who didn't campaign on getting rid of it. But most of them actually had some believable platform content as well.

Because the only 'real' government waste is whatever the previous guy did. Now if only we could remember, previous guy or present guy, they all work for us, and there'd be no waste at all if we paid attention and made them pay attention between elections to give us what we need to make the City, province or country better for us all.

Actually, the common thread in the media reports is how little this is affecting public opinion and how Rob's popularity numbers have remained stable. Perhaps you'd like to show us how easy it is to back unsupported allegations with facts and quote some that support yours.
You are nothing if not hilarious OJ considering the current status of the allegations against Ford.

Read a poll about Rob Ford and this crack head allegations today, and the poll broke it down by region.

No surprise that more people believed Ford did not smoke crack in Etobicoke, North York, Scraborough. The old boundaries of the city of Toronto, the majority believes he smoked crack.

The number that surprised me was that 40% in old city of Toronto believe Rob Ford.

Ford Nation is a minority in City of Toronto, but there is a Ford Nation downtown.

Suppose that old city of Toronto comprises 25% of the vote for the entire Metro Toronto. This means 15 is anti-Ford while 10 is pro-Ford.

Therefore, there is only a slight edge for the anti-Ford forces in the old city of Toronto.

5% for the old city of Toronto is not enough to beat Ford when the pro-Ford votes are counted in suburbia.

I believe these numbers that support another Ford win in 2014. During this entire crack scandal, his support has not budged. Since that VHS tape has not surfaced, people will forget about all of this crack thing.

This story could die off because political opponents have not gained anything against Ford. This story will die because they need to follow a different track, one of which they haven't thought of as of yet. On the other hand, this story won't die off because the Liberal media may decide to keep on this negative campaign until they think of something new.

Well you got my point at least; many of those who shrill and bitch about the allegations against Ford have no hesitation in making their own unsupported allegations against others.

So I turned on CP24 at noon to see the big rally.....um couldn't really find it. Maybe 100 people(as reported by the station. Oh and they left graffiti on a wall as we'll.......
So much for the revolution......
I think everyone who did attend should get a complimentary 'get a life' button pinned on them. Ford's irrelevant now, at council and at more senior levels of gov. he's considered easily ignored if not radioactive. Let the pig thrash around in his delusional crusades against gravy and on behalf of the little guy to his heart's content. He should seriously thank his lucky stars that he enjoys the support of his family to the extent that he does...on a personal level, he's a very lucky man.
