The other detail from the Gawker story, regarding the fund raiser was the cutoff date was May 27, which I could not fully understand.
Of course, it hit me later. It is Memorial Day tomorrow in the USA. The financial markets are closed and it is a holiday. This is the holiday where they traditionally mark the beginning of the summer season.
Everyone in the USA will be thinking of their holidays and the summer, not about some crack dude living in a Canadian igloo. They will forget about the fund raiser, forget about Canada, forget about the igloo, forget about Ford, forget about how the ice in the igloo won't melt from the crack pipe, and forgot why did they ever donate to that Gawker fellow? He gave the money to charity, so it was not all bad.
The Gawker thing is beginning to look like one well thought out and well play publicity stunt.
As for the Doug Ford & GlobeandMail battle, rumours are not truth for most people. If they don't have more than that, such as a arrest report, then this is one big bull shit story.
Rumours 30 years later, that's a waste of time.
