Did any of you notice about the fight (or lack of) between Kadri and Petrovic?

Kadri is a young skill player, he has grown in big spurt to be a brighter light on the team many ways: play making, scoring, physical ... I understand that he is not Orr or McLaren but I cringed when he declined to fight, but found it acceptable to punch Petrovic when he was restrained and pulled down by Fraser. He gotta listen to DonCherry and learn how to act in these kind of situation.
if you are going to go around chopping guys like Kadri did to Petrovic then you can't run and hide behind guys like Fraser. If Kadri had any balls he would have been a man and dropped the gloves even if it means he takes a beating, at least he would earn a little respect and not
be looked at as a little coward who will start shit but doesn't have the guts to finish it. One of these days no one will be there to save his sorry ass and
he will have his head kicked in and it will be well deserved just as Subban will learn as well.

They didn't win a cup with Sittler either.
And if I recall correctly, they had very few superstars when they won those 4 cups in the 60's. Just balanced scoring and solid team defence.

Listen it's pathetic that one of the richest teams in the NHL ie the Yanks of the NHL has only had two players in top 10 in the last 20+ years ..
I guess those were pathetic cup wins.

What is pathetic is how the know-nothing experts come up with mean-nothing stats to try to negate the fact the Leafs have improved dramatically this year. Here's a stat. They made the playoffs. That is a true indicator, not the useless (but sometime interesting) top 10 scorers or shot differential or short season or whatever else.

We hated them missing the playoffs for so long. Now they are in because they earned it by winning enough games (another truly relevant stat). They can lose 4 in a row and it would indeed be very disappointing, but considering where they have come from, this season has been an unmitigated success. Are there areas they can improve? For sure. But they took great strides forward this year.

Screw Dave Feschuk and screw all the wanna-be Dave Feschuks that post on TERB. Find something else to criticize. Try the pathetic Raptors and the anti-Burke, corporate Colangelo. That is a joke of an organization with absolutely no potential for improvement. The Leafs are, if nothing more, respectable and indications are that they can continue to improve..

One of the superstars was Johnny Bower. He stoned the Canadiens in 1967.
The curse of Harvey "Busher" Jackson.
Thankfully that curse had been broken by not only numerous playoffs but 4 cup wins as well before this recent drought.

Actually, Busher put on that curse after the 1967 Cup win and shortly before his death when Smyth refused to induct him(Busher) into the HOF while Busher was still alive. (Similar to what is happening to Pete Rose and Jack Morris now.)

I'd never heard of it and assumed it was much earlier.

For all you Kessel haters, it was pointed out in the broadcast tonight that the last time a Leafs had back to back top 10 scorer was with Daryl Sittler.
Actually if you mean top 10 points leaders back to back. It was Doug Gilmour 1992-1993 and 1993-1994 seasons.

he might get his chance tonite. that young Gallagher kid on the habs, was after kadri last time they played, kadri turned and skated away, and this Gallagher kid is smaller than him{ but he has heart}. if ur gonna lay somebody out with a hard check, and then stand over and chirp him, you will pay, sooner or later.

Gallanger is a funny kid, he is an agitator, skilled one though, with an annoying smile frozen on his face all night.

Obviously I'm not going to defend Kadri on the hit on Gallanger then chirp, neither did Grapes, but my personal opinion is: not many really knows what he was chirping about or replying to Gallanger's chirp (speculation on my part) just the same with which is an action or re-action on the ice. The point is in game situation, things happens fast and furious, with emotion running high (especially when you are THE target) many things can happen and quite a few times players sorry after the fact. All in the learning process, especially for young player.

Kadri-gallanger affair is a bit easy to understand than the Kadri-Petrovic though.

What the fuck !

You mean Leafs players act like .... every other NHL player.

lol ...
he will have his head kicked in
are we 12 years old back in the playground at recess ?

We have another Leaf fan here folks.

Making the playoffs sure bring out the haters. Oh damn do I ever want the Leafs to win a round or two.
Quick, hide the sharp instruments.
Some of these clowns will jumping off building.

Dry your eyes Saxon, it is highly unlikely the Leafs win the Cup this year.

I know I started this talk about Kadri, but this poster missed the point. What I found disgusting was the punches threw when Petrovic was tied up by Fraser and already down, I would never think Kadri should have dropped the gloves. He is not there to fight, period. He quacked at Petorvic BECAUSE hes was quacked at just moments before by Petrovic. He declined the fight which is alright and smart, not coward. But to punch after you have Fraser in is not right, he should have let Fraser take care of business.

Certaintly he will learn, and not deserve to have his head kick in !

Took another look at this tussle ...

If you haters have the balls check out the video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HplkX0kvAA4

First two slashes at 32 second frame by ...

wait for it ....

Petrovic

Yes a responding slash by Kadri, but Petrovic was clearly first.

Then 'tough guy' Petrovic goes after Kadri and throws a gloved punch at about 42-43 seconds of the video.

Talking about respect, as another poster pointed out, .... Kadri has to repond to shit from other players.
As for the punches thrown by Kadri 'when Petrovic was down', well the video clearly shows that Kadri was engaged with Petrovic, intent on fighting his own battle when Fraser jumps in.

The video never lies !
