Obama is trying to install some sense of shared responsibility and social justice. He's just too weak and in the end bought off by the lobbyists.
I used to love the US and would love to see them in the days of FDR and lbj. But those days r long gone and selfishness now rule. Too bad.

Prim0, I didn't mean to sound as though I was criticizing. The US is a great country, but it just seems to be constantly "stuck" lately. I have explained to my kids many times that part of the US's problem is that it is EXTRAORDINARILY expensive being the World's Policeman. I think that they relish that job, but I also suspect that they wouldn't mind a little help now and again.
And I don't recall Saturday mail, but I'm not young either. The importance of mail ain't what it used to be either though.

True, who will defend South Korea if the North Koreans attack, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, maybe Germany?
The U.S. was isolationist in WW I and II and they still got dragged into a shooting war anyway.
except for the part where they were providing weapons and supplies to the russians who were fighting china which caused china to attack pearl harbour. they were sticking their name in everyone's business, always have. they would not be getting attacked or dragged into things if they truly stayed out of other peoples business.

Automatic Assault Rifles have been banned from civilian use since the 1968 in the USofA and assault rifles are mentioned in the Second Amendment right below the word muskets. You are certainly allowed to speak freely and express yourself of which the Second Amendment has provided and still provides to this very day, some 226yrs ago but you shouldn't regurgitate everything you hear on CNN.

Yes we are. But they are a hardworking people, and I enjoy their cuisine. Maybe not the shark fin soup but the other stuff like flied lice and chicken balls are tasty. (Damn, they sure know how to raise BIG chickens if their balls are that big...
)
