Toronto will have a baseball only park of any design you like .. right after you fork over $600 million or so.

Even tryng get players over here to play, it's a factor. Guys don't want to play here cause it's not natural grass. The dome is now 25 years old. At some point, places need to upgrade and go with the times. It's the cost of doing buisness and Rogers can afford it.

If I have good seats and it's a good game and the fans are up for the game, then it's enjoyable.

I don't find the actual physical facility that huge of a factor to my overall enjoyment (unless the seats are uncomfortable/cramped or there's an obstructed view).
Well I can tell you that I went petco park in San Diego and it was beautiful, and just the stadium alone made it fun to watch a game, and I'm not alone on this. There are many people that feel the way I do.

Building a new stadium in Toronto won't happen anytime soon. Let's get real. the dome is here and here to stay for a long. long time. It's easier to re-vamp an existing facility than to build a new one.

Like it or not.

Unless ... we paid off some Euro soccer players to throw some games and bet heavily on the correct:thumb: outcome.

Anywhere a new stadium would have been built downtown is now four new condos. See the mess in Miami, new stadiums aren't 400-600$ million, they are $2 billion. The dome is here to stay for a long time. Next upgrade should be making the seats more comfortable !

I must admit, the rogers centre looked pretty good with the new reno and some of the new signage like they have at other stadiums like the big budwiser sign.

Wherever I shouldn't be
The place is a sterile concrete monolith, but Rogers is actually trying. It's all we have for the time being, there isn't a new stadium on the horizon because there is no one to pay for it.
Skydump has a lot more character than it did when it was new, but it will never be a "ballpark".
Now about the half empty stadium for game 2 of this "championship" season.

As a huge baseball fan I will agree with this, now given on a July afternoon with the roof open it's not that bad but close that roof and it becomes like an airplane hanger. Yes Fenway, Camden Yards and Comerica Park are all light years in awesomeness compared to that multi purpose facility but the money and the interest simply isnt in Toronto. This is a one team town and everything else is secondary, you get one night where 50 thousand people gather and act like English soccer fans from 1980 and 2 days later they move on. The multi purpose place is sterile and boring but it does serve it's purpose and anything that brings MLB baseball to this town is better than having nothing.

Can you imagine what it would have been like the last two nights without a dome? Only the drunkest could have enjoyed themselves for 9 innings of freezing temps by the windy lake.

A dome is a necessity here.

Make it into a strip club and see what happens lol
Actually they should build a brandnew stadium, and convert Rogers Centre into a giant red-light district

Give me a fucking break. Our climate is exact same as half city's in the majors. NY, Chicago, Minnesota, just to name a few.

Not to mention some of these nice new ball parks have retractable roofs like Milwaukee, Houston and Seattle.

Not to mention it was a bit of a colder week. This team starts on the road and we are not even having this discussion.

This is exactly the type of pompous primadonna attitude why Americans make fun of us and we don't deserve n NFL team.
