Been really feeling like some tasty fish and chips this Easter weekend. Recommendations please? Preferably in Toronto.
Happy Easter to my fellow terbites..

It's been good to know ya
It is not in Toronto but yesterday walking past Apple Wood Fish and Chips in Mississauga I could not help but mention that I would love to own that business, as the customers are always constant and yesterday the line up was all the way down to the laundry mat two stores down. I have always enjoyed their fish and chips on occasion and you know they are always busy so the fish is not getting old.

Off The Hook at Danforth and Broadview is excellent. Very good portion of fish with a nice light crunchy battered coating. Open 7 days but not sure about this weekend. I like this place because there are tables to sit down and eat.

Fresco's in Kensington Market has a great Mrs Vickie's batter for their fish. http://frescosfishandchips.com

Chippies on Queen West is good too.

But Fresco's and Chippies don't have a decent place to sit down.

On a lark I went to my local place just two days ago which has been there forever for the very first time (I've been here for 20 years)....Black Cat on Avenue Rd. south of Wilson.

I was impressed, thin batter, fish had great consistency and fresh cut fries. I will go back.

I have been there many times. Excellent. I think they advertise on AM 640.

Off the Hook on Broadview Ave just south of the Danforth is amazing and great value. Also High St near Lawrence and DVP.

I've heard before that Black Cat was good.

Great fish and chips isn't readily available, it has to be made with fresh halibut. Unfortunately its been over fished and its habitat is being decimated by off-shore drilling. These days it's being made with inferior haddock and it isn't the same.

Duckworth fish and chips Scarborough Kingston Rd and Midland
Awesome fish and chips. Love the bread and cup of tea with a sit down. Really popular as evidenced by the line ups. Sometimes parking a little iffy in that curb side strip plaza. I drop in there when I am visiting the tropical fish store close by. It is a very old, interesting part of town.
