exactly. while we all hope she's going to be ok, one has to wonder what the hell she was thinking working at her home at all hours of the night with no security. Ladies put themselves in a position where they can be robbed, injured, raped or killed when they don't follow common sense screening and safety procedures. This could have easily be prevented. I do hope she's ok, this is one hell of a way to learn a lesson.
+1

And I would like to add one additional point.

I bet 90 to 99% of all calls go without a hitch. However, you take security and safety measures on ALL calls for the 1% that could end-up, unfortunately, like this one.

Probably the same odds for taxi drivers. 90% or more riders are fine but it is the 1% that stabs, beats, robs and/or kills you.

Wow, didn't know you were on the road driving a cab for that long. I heard in the media that 2 cab drivers got robbed this week. One was stabbed several times and is recovering at home. He said that in-car cameras help to capture the culprits but are probably not a major deterrent. What are your views on shields? When I use to travel to NYC, almost all the yellow cabs had shields.
Real estate agents are also at risk when they show a vacant home to a prospective "client". Very often you don't know who you are dealing with, unless you run a police reference report on all of them.

My two cents are that if a lady is unfortunately robbed or worse at the hands of a certain race of person, they shouldn't get persecuted for mentioning in their ads that they don't wish to see a person of that race. I for instance am a caucasion male, and a lady had a bad experience with a caucasion male and put in her ad, NO WHITE MALES, I wouldn't care. I was visiting a SP once and I had to listen to her explain to a caller that she didn't want to see a customer of a particular race. The person on the phone was "offended" by the statement etc. At the end of the day these ladies are commiting an act that is pretty upfront and personal. If they don't want to see a person of a particular race ,that is their right. Just the same as some of them are bi, or straight. Hey it's still the woman's decison. We don't OWN them. We're only giving them money for their time, and hopefully receiving an enjoyable time when we're there.

Looks like you've decided to blame the victim.. The truth is that she should be able to work when she wants to without incurring being pistol whipped. Unfortunately...sometimes we are in the wrong place at the wrong time, and we come across Tyreke, a gun toting thug with little respect for anyone. And there is little you or me can do at that point. Would you blame me if I was robbed walking through Yonge/Dundas at 4am...c'mon.

Wow...I'm not black but I am surprised at the number of racist assholes on this board. A bunch of Internet warriors that I'd love to see say the same things they say here to the face of a black man. Or woman for that matter, my guess is you couldn't handle them either.

Why would one come across someone who has no respect for society...is most likely packing heat...has a criminal record the length of person's arm..and is obviously up to no good? Why would someone challenge this person? The thug has little to lose..and law abiding, tax paying, respectful citizens like myself have everything to lose.

Why would there be any problem finding this guy? Surely he used a phone.....unless the phone was stolen.

I do hope she is okay.... That is very upsetting! Very close to home for me. I like some of the other girls mentioned, work during the day. I am aware that this crime could happen through the day but less likely. Hopefully the woman has a strong loving support system!

i had a few people try to rob me and it didn't really work out for them. i am bigger than most and i think that helps me in that people are afraid to try shit with me. also having grown up in the country i am not to worried. i got careless one time and someone got a lucky shot on my temple and left me dizzy for a second. i beat the fuck out of him lol. after that i hit the nearest truck stop and got a "tire checker" and kept it right beside the driver seat if something ever came up.

oddly enough the people that tried to rob me were all white. however one of them dressed and talked like he was black. take from that what you want.

This is absolutely victim blaming. Not everyone has the same opportunities to be as selective with clients, timing and screening as the unspoken escorting rules dictate. I hate that we're talking about "ladies putting themselves in a position", that's ridiculous.

My heart goes out to this woman. I hope we can get some bad client information posted in the PSA section and on the bad client lists.

PS. Quoting Plan B for truth, can someone come make sure I'm okay?

And people may also wonder about why many SP's also close-up shop so that they're not seeing clients at 4-fucking-20 in the morning in their private homes, none-the-less!!!

That is to say, you have ignored two big key safety breaches and focused on the one that is inflammatory.

Didn't take long for one newbie, with no axes to grind, to cut to the quick and see that the emperor has no clothes. Well put.

in my pants, where there's a party
I am not blaming the victim for the assault, that's all on him.
But c'mon... ladies have got to be more fucking careful than this!!!!! for 200 bucks she takes an awful lot of risks.
I separated the quote to make it clearer how you are indeed blaming the victim. I am not doing so with any malice in mind, please understand. But not everyone has the freedom to choose when/where to work. To infere she does is showing you're approaching the situation from a position of privilege.

711's all have cameras...even with fake id he can probably be busted if he was stupid enough to get the phone himself...lets hope he was.

You are presuming the investigating Durham officers:

1. Give enough of a shit to look any further than taking the report

2. Competent enough investigators to think about this, track the phone through to Rogers thence to 7-11 or Petro Ca etc

3. That they follow through with 7-11 or Petro Head Office to find the location and time it was sold,

4. That records exist as to ESN tied to cash register purchase

5. That they go see if the video exists, and if so is there usable images etc.

Sorry but you've been watching too much CSI!

We are not some court. And any court, civil or criminal would never find her culpable in any way.

But, yes every independent escort has the freedom to chose when they work. Unless they are being forced by a pimp, or trafficker which is a whole different story.

And yes, the victim has to take ownership of her decision. Not you, not I. Will she take calls again at 4:00 am or will she learn some risk management from this horrible experience.

Indeed, the assailant and robber is a filthy criminal and deserves every punishment he may get but a great deal of our risks are mitigated by our own decisions.

I hope that all escorts here really consider the risks and consequences of their appointments and clients in general.

Go ahead and discriminate as to time, ethnicity, manners, age, whatever you want to try to stay safe. Even if you have a terrible sense of risk, be conservative. Your role is not to make the world a better place, safe from discrimination or 24/7 Paid Sex availability.

YOUR over riding concern has to be for your comfort and safety.

Everyone else can fuck off.

In a recent column in The Toronto Star, Royson James wrote that 95% of Jamaicans (and Black people?) are hard working and law abiding. (I will accept the validity of his 95% figure as my roofer is Jamaican and has an all Black crew.) However, Royson did not mention that 99% (rough estimate, based on anecdotal observation only) of Koreans, Filipinos, Chinese, Tamils, E.I.'s, Portuguese, Hispanics, etc. are hardworking and law abiding, so the Jamaicans need to up their game.
