CC, I'm assuming that you accept the concept of the scene, where three U.S. soldiers walk slowly toward a German tank and
don't get machine-gunned in the first few seconds. And you accept that the German commander speaks perfect English. My guess about what you flagged as the inconsistency is when they say the value of the gold is 16 million dollars or 45 million marks. This would imply an exchange rate between the currencies of two countries at war, which would obviously not have any trade. Yes, this is a complete guess.
