With the stunning success of the Galaxy S III, there is an obvious interest on what is the new Galaxy going to be like. Samsung plays their cards close to the vest similar to Apple but there have been leaks so I thought I would start a Thread to collect information/rumours as they become available.
- Galaxy S IV - the name. The number 4 is bad luck in much of Asia and in Korea is sounds very close to the word death so there is a good chance the name will not follow the previous format.
- The processor will be 8 core Exynos 5 with an 8 core graphics interface. This will give it an ability to run high end games.
- a 5-inch 1080p display is in the works.. This isn't a surprise as Samsung's competitors already have similar products and it's unlikely Samsung will be left behind.
- The next-generation could be equipped with the foldable display unveiled at CES. This could mean a handset that won't easily break.
- a 13-megapixel (1080p video capture) rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front camera capable of 720p video capture for video chat.
- Wireless charging using Qi standards to allow a consumer choice for wireless charging. Coffee shops could offer wireless charging for Qi phones in the future.
- Release rumours from late Feb to May and some suggest that it will follow the next Android major release : Key Lime Pie
