i'm having my eye operated on tomorrow and i'm scared to death. the doc tells me i need to be awake for the operation:Eek:
Cataract surgery is a breeze: you'll be all done in half an hour and will be laughing at your worries later. I don't even remember any pain or invconvenience. It really is very minor and if you need to get it done so you can see then I'd suggest that you try to just take a deep breath and get it done.

Good luck. D.

mom just had it done a few months ago. they tell you not to be alone for the first 24 hours. she wasn't given anything stronger than a tylenol 3 and she didn't have any real discomfort or pain after. it was a very simple procedure and she was just as scared as you going in and when she walked out she felt silly for being scared.

don't stress or obsess on it, you will make yourself sick. just trust they know what they are doing and they do it countless times a day. hope you get healed up quick.

Is there a lifetime limit for cataract surgeries (e.g. knee replacement surgeries has a lifetime limit of 2, so I was told)?

i haven't had my surgery yet!!
i need to get my blood sugar down first, and i wont be seeing the same doctor since he put me through all the stress and shit when he knew or should have known {my DR sent him copies of my blood tests} that the surgery couldn't be done.
he wasted both my time and money and has put on hold my return to work. {my real life job}

So it is the surgeon's fault your blood sugar is not controllable? And you are going to find another surgeon who WILL operate on you in that condition?

no it's his fault he didn't look at the tests he clearly asked for from my doctor. if he had i wouldn't have even went to the surgical appointment it would have been booked for a later date when i would have been able to have it done. my blood sugar is controllable
