Look into Anguila for a decent combination of accessibility/stability/privacy. A lot of places have what you suggest but the banks won't talk to you unless you're a major player (esp. Cayman Islands). Hong Kong is good but far and you have to present yourself in person to open the bank account. Not expensive but a PIA if you're a busy professional. Bahamas wants nominee directors which has some risks associated with it.

Anguila.
Thanks :) Cayman seem nice and polite though. Charming to women as well.

Not to mention that the documents you sign to get the loan make it the banks till you pay it off.

And most jerk water Harbour Masters and customs guys would love to grab you for the reward when the bank adds your name and boat to the list.

Did I mention that if you try and sneak in, you look a lot like a smuggler or drug runner, and they will use all resources possible to apprehend you?

Isn't t a pain how reality sucks and has so many rules? Best to run away and live in the buried shelter in the forest. No income so no taxes LOL
and lets not forget if you were gonna steal something you would make sure to only talk to people involved with legal activities and you would make sure to obey the law at every turn.

there are islands out there, that are civilized and have no customs. you can go live with pygmy's or just find an empty island altogether and enjoy the quiet life and live on the local plants and animals.

Let me guess, you love Robinson Caruso don't you. Ok off you. bye bye

They have some odd prejudices about squatters though. So best did another bunker when you get there :)

Simon don't argue maritime law with ms Caloki she is the daughter of Capt. Highliner.

Actually hun, if you start taking the courses to be able to handle a medium sized boat you have to be introduced to Maritime Law.

And how to legally enter ports. etc.

What is the point of having a butt load of money if you have to live on a boat to avoid taxes. The point of having butt loads of money is to live the life you want without worry. If you love to live on a boat and if sailing gives you wood then tax avoidance is icing on the cake. However to purposely live on a boat to avoid taxes, the spend much time away from oh I don't know, friends, family, cultural and less ahem cultural pursuits [hurray local sports team] just to avoid taxes. That is sad and pathetic.
If you feel the need to use such methods to avoid taxes, I don't care how much money you have, you are really poor mentally speaking.

There are people who live in civilized places under the radar. It doesn't sound like much of a life though.

you spelled a few words wrong again you amazing university grad you.
see below

you really suck at quoting and making sense. you can live a good life without money, if you can't picture it i feel bad for you. money isn't everything unless you are shallow.
Agreed. Read "Your Money or Your Life" for a good discussion on the subject if a bit tree huggish.

Ohhhh ok little guy. You can be our token hundredaire who lives in a shack in the woods and digs out a nice shelter to hide in :)

Hun, the moment you take out a huge loan to bye a boat and take off..... well taxes are the least of your problem. But that is ok, go off and be happy.

Glad to see that high powered education you like to brag about has proven so effective.

Also glad too see those critical thinking skills you supposedly learned with your 4.0 GPA and mega high IQ are in play. Because of course the only options are to live on a boat because you will cut yourself if you have to pay taxes or live in a shack in the woods and a hole in the ground. [BTW which is it, or do you mean an earth bermed shack in the woods. You don't want to earth berm a shack, you need something more substantial. Reminds me of those slow people on Army.ca who seem to think the only jobs people can get are McDs and military.

Supposedly so SMRT yet can't figure out that one can live a very comfortable life without butt loads of money. That a modest income can provide an standard of living beyond that of a shack or a hole in the ground.
So SMRT yet can't figure out that as the research seems to be showing, happiness once a basic level of financial comfort is met comes more from purpose and social connections. Unless I supposed you are psychologically damaged.

BTW this is not of interest to Loki. No need to direct this to his attention [and really what sort of hubris does such a sig require] the last thing I desire is to here the herpa Derpa response.

Oh thank you so much.

hun, I am sorry, I find money to be nice to have. If that is a personality flaw I do indeed have it.

We live on a boat because it was my man's fantasy all his life. I wanted him to have a chance to enjoy it for 5 years. So we are.

Culture? etc

Well last mooring was in South Harbour in down town London. They still have a little culture there. Before that Paris, etc

Oh on our way to Mardi Gras in New Orleans now. :)

The boat is just a house that lets us travel comfortably. For tax purposes is spend about six months in an wonderful, civilized and comfortable country. Living in a place people scrimp and save to visit for a few weeks is hardly a hardship. But it is not as much fun as visiting the world.

And I reached the end of my desire in reading a post by Fat man. So poof the end

I do not get it, why would FatOne try and say things to me knowing I have him on ignore.

What part of being on ignore do you not understand? At least do not pretend you are talking to me directly. :)

I think Fats hit it on the head when he mentioned that if you really have wealth there is no need to avoid the taxes on it.
And again, those with actual wealth rarely talk about it especially on a sex review board. Speaking of money, a few moths ago on another thread on investing I mentioned a small mining company with the symbol ZEN. At that time the stock was trading in the 50-60 cent range. Today it hit 1.40/share. The Bear is very, very happy! GB

LOL Guess you must be right. Why avoid 20 to 30% taxes when you are wealthy. LOL

Men who make money on investments seldom mention it and brag about it? LOL

great bear, as far as I can tell unless you are in a risky neighbourhood, you do not care either way. If I keep getting needled and asked questions I respond. Like most people.

But it is the internet, feel free to believe I am some poor basement dwelling 40 year old if it makes you feel better.

To avoid taxes you actually have to live on a boat? Get real, make some serious money.
