Clearly this is another case where a firearm picked itself up, loaded itself and then pointed and shot at the boy.

BTW how did this happen when its very difficult to get a handgun in canada, and if you do you cannot take it anywhere besides the range?
Seems the same laws people push for in the states do jack shit here.
No, it's a case of someone who shouldn't have a gun getting one. Clearly the haze around your head, blue or otherwise, doesn't allow you to see that.

And what has anyone done to stop that person from owning a gun?
Im willing to bet you that who ever pulled the trigger is already known to police, has a criminal record the size of a phone book and has been PROHIBITED from owning a firearm. How's that working out? Triple ban and still nothing, surely a 4th ban would solve this, right?

BTW why is this in here? I doubt that a ar15 was used, my bet would be a 9mm handgun.

You lose, again. It kind of puts some of the rest of your acclimations in a different spotlight; mouth in first brain in neatral. proof you don't even read the basic stuff.

Nehemiah told police he shot his father multiple times with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle with a scope, according to the document, then said he reloaded the weapons with the intention of driving to an area where he could shoot more people

The laws in the US allows him to have access to the gun.

Except No one that I know posting on TERB is anti gun, just anti some guns. Not realizing that make me wonder about your sense of logic and reason.
Anti-some-gun and anti-gun is really arguing semantics. Watch this video and then tell me again why the AR15 should be banned. There are hand guns that have 33 round magazines and are used far more often in crimes than any rifle, but all the hysteria, FUD and misinformation from the mainstream media on this topic is unbelievable.

without giving this more thought, if it's true that some handguns hold more rounds, the nra should have allowed the silly ban to go thru. that would take the heat off for a while. everybody would go home happy.

he could have done lot more damage at the Walmart with the automatic...mowin' 'em down! YEEHAW for the 2nd amendment!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know how many times this needs to be repeated. The AR-15 is NOT a FULLY Automatic firearm. It is SEMI-automatic. 1 trigger pull equals 1 bullet fired.

I think I read that there is a small add-on which is easily available that makes it fully automatic. Are you aware of such a thing?

So sad, 9 year old Kesean Williams shot while sitting in his living room in Brampton. (Hope I got the name right because we don't want that madman to go apeshit again.) Police now believe the house was targeted. No report on whether the bullet was fired from a pistol or rifle.

There is no such thing. You need to do metalworking on the AR15 receiver in order to fit the automatic parts into it. A gunsmith can do it with a machine shop but it requires metalworking tools, not drop in parts. The receiver was intentionally designed to be similar to the fully automatic M16 except that it is made in a way that it does NOT to have space in it for automatic fire components. That was intentional in its design as it was designed up front to be a civilian/semi-automatic version of the M16.

There ARE drop in parts like that for the semi-automatic versions of the AK47 and the FN FAL, and for that reason those rifles are prohibited in Canada. Similarly the RCMP recently determined that replacing parts in the FN SCAR would make that rifle automatic as well, and so classed it as prohibited. The AR15 is not prohibited precisely because there is no simple way to make it a fully automatic rifle without making significant modifications to the receiver itself.

I think what you heard about was a stock that "mimics" an automatic where the trigger is pulled by the recoil, along the lines of bump firing.
Its not even close to the same thing and you can shoot just as fast using your fingers.

It's not semantics, it's fact. The rifle is far more accurate and easier to aim than the pistol so is more of a concern than the 33 round pistol. if this pistol is a factor then deal with it as well. Who really needs a 33 round clip for a pistol? It's simply another case of because we can. Why stop at 33, why not 66 rounds? You then can use it at a crutch when you get shot.
