Seriously??? keep thinking that..police dogs no...german sheperds...and any other dog ..TRAINED..to protect will...it doesnt matter the breed...FFS..a fucking YORKIE would attack an intruder if someone was aggressive towards their owner..
Its the way they were trained.....it is NOT the DOG....get it thru your head!!!!!!its the OWNER!!!
TAKE any pitbull..Staffordshire Terrier..American Staffordshire Terrier...remove them from the aggressive environment they were BORN into and they can be as docile as any other pet....

“This is a different breed … the power that comes behind bull dog, pit bull, presa canario, the fighting breed — They have an extra boost, they can go into a zone, they don’t feel the pain anymore. … So if you are trying to create submission in a fighting breed, it’s not going to happen. They would rather die than surrender. … If you add pain, it only infuriates them … to them pain is that adrenaline rush, they are looking forward to that, they are addicted to it. … That’s why they are such great fighters. … You’re going to have these explosions over and over because there’s no limits in their brain.”
Mr. Jaquish likely doesn’t want to know the statistics on pit bull attacks relative to other breeds. If he took seriously the fact that pit bulls or pit bull crosses were responsible for more than a third of dog bite related fatalities, or that in the first 8 months of 2011, nearly half of those killed by pit bulls were the dog’s owner, he might have to admit that he was putting his own children at special risk. He doesn’t want to go there.
The dogs have been seized by Animal Services and will undergo “behaviour testing” to see if they can go back to their owner. What’s to test, dude? They’re pit bulls. They get “explosions” in their brains. Q.E.D.

I wish my dog can protect me from a pitbull attack. The only mid-size
breed to beat a pitbull I can think of would be a bull terrier based on what
I read about them. I was told not-withstanding a warm temperature they
are pound-for-pound the most powerful dog.
He was part husky/ part black lab. Seemed to have the best of both and nothing of the bad.
Lived 16 years plus, never had a health issue.

They use our property all the time to train the dogs...read it carefully now... I did say ...TRAINED.....would I approach a police dog on a leash..HELL NO..(and I have BTW when they have been training them)..but they have been...wait for it...TRAINED to react that way...you know special phrases and such(..am I getting thru here?..comprhending this well??)..when I have asked to approach the dog(s)..and the handler has acknoledge to me that it was ok......surprise ..surprise.....the dog love belly rubs!!!!

None of those have ever caused me, nor most of the population, much trouble. The disproportionate high number of fatal PB attacks makes your point really weak., but you heard all that the last time we discussed it. The only Pitbull I ever met up close decided to snarl at me at the top of the basement stairs. I close the door on his face and knocked him down the stairs. After the owner apologized left and right for the dogs behavior, asking me not to report him or the dog, I left the house. The owner got rid of the dog within the year.
Why not, they are trained 'not' to attack or challenge without a command from their handler.
Do you think that maybe...just maybe...that your reaction wasnt the first time someone reacted in a similar way?.causing the dog to take that defensive posture?...hit me in the face with a door or kick/knock me down the stairs a few times...and I'm gonna be pissed at you....or anyone else for that matter that I'm not familiar with.......
Dogs arent stupid...they do have survival instincts....
That depends on the dogs specific purpose...crowd control(they are trained to present an agressive posture..to keep the crowd at bay...), until I know what the trainer has trained him for I dont/wont approach....
We'll never know what happened, but Pom's , like a lot of small breeds, can be very aggressive if not trained properly, and if you talk a bit with a small dog owner who has such a dog, they will apologize for their dog's behaviour, but they will never admit to lack of training on their part .

So using your logic, PBs might be able to walk a tightrope as there's no proof they can't, because none have tried.
No one is also claiming border collie have never bit any one, but I'm sure the stats are out there somewhere. We're no counting bits, but fatal bites and it isn't even close.

- Of the 88 fatal dog attacks recorded by DogsBite.org, pit bull type dogs were responsible for 59% (52). This is equivalent to a pit bull killing a U.S. citizen every 21 days during this 3-year period.
- The data also shows that pit bulls commit the vast majority of off-property attacks that result in death. Only 18% (16) of the attacks occurred off owner property, yet pit bulls were responsible for 81% (13).
- I know it's the owners fault. Check out the number of attacks by PB on family members and actually learn something.
