And who busted him, some undercover lady cop..likely bent up on making an arrest.

Lets wait and see how this plays out, lets see if any past victims will identify him in a line up.

Everybody who gets arrested is NOT guilty...the police were under much pressure to make an arrest. Maybe they did get the right guy or maybe not or maybe there is more then one dude out there. Copycat criminals do happen

His uncle was on cp24 claiming that the police made an error. That he is not that type of kid. That he would never do this. Looks like the kid was living with his uncle
It is shocking....look 15 year olds don't really know how to pick up ladies-do they? Perhaps the teenager thought this undercover cop was flirting with him and he made a "move" on her ...yeah yeah you don't grope the gals but the teen is only 15 and maybe didn't know better.

As the title of this thread says, WTF...it doesn't make sense, so just maybe this isn't the right guy after all.

Is it on video, do we know what this lady cop was doing, how she was acting ?

I'm giving this teenager the benefit of the doubt until the police prove him guilty and if any past victims also say yeah, he was the guy....in the past the victims had to identify them in a line up with other people around the same height and age..not sure if that is still true today

Oh for the love of God Joe. :frusty:
WTF, this is how false arrest happen, you get these cops under pressure to make an arrest...wasn't like he really got caught in the act....same shit used to happen in those hooker busts.....you just stop and say HI, and wham, your under arrest.

Get your head out of the sand...if undercover cops never made any arrests they would be replaced.

This screams entrapment...remember what that was ?????

Did you read a different article than the one linked to at the top of this thread?

"Arrested on the spot late Saturday night after he allegedly groped a decoy undercover police officer near the corner of Bloor Street West and Roxton Road"
What you think the undercover and her back-up squad all decided hey lets just arrrest a 15 year-old for the Hell of it?

...It's also one of those dual offenses that can be prosecuted either as an indictable offense (similar to felony) or on summary conviction (similar to misdemeanor), with the difference left up to case law...
For an adult, if the police detective requests only a DNA sample in the event conviction, rather than jail time, the accused does not qualify for Court appointed counsel at trial. He has to pay for his own lawyer, or defend himself.

the difference or rather election is left to the Crown, case law has nothing to do with it

And how do you think the crown decides whether an indictment will be successful?
Crown's election policy is based first and foremost on a notion of avoiding jury trials on minor offences. Nothing to do with either case law or belief that "indictment will be successful" .

If they go for an indictment it won't be minor. Case law informs what situations justify the heftier sentences that the indictment can bring.

this guy will get off with no sentence. the media is emphasizing he's "only 15", a "boy". pretty soon they'll describe his broken home and how he was never loved by a mother. on and on it'll go. a young man touching pretty women. no surprise. time will tell, but i see girls of that race being touched every day at the bus stops as i drive by. it seems common in that culture. the mistake he made was doing it on the street. to middle class white women. anyway the police got to blow it up and justify their staffing levels. and using the term "in harm's way" for a sting operation was over-the-top.

Even if it's only multiple cases of groping, that's still bad, as it escalates to worse.
It might have more to do with protecting the rape victim so that no one really knows whether she has been raped or just had her ass pinched. I'm sure it's much easier to cope if no one knows.

I don't think that all those famous ass pinchers in Italy would necessarily agree with your pyschological assesment/theory about escalation but I'm sure it's true in some cases.

In this case not all of the assaults were described as sexual assaults in the paper. I think only 3 or 4 of the 14 were labelled sexual assaults, so we obviously are missing a few details.

In any event it's good that they caught him, if it's the same guy.

Let's at least stay on this side of the ocean. You might be right about protection.

All my buddies back in first year of university had a bet on how many asses they could pinch in a night club one night. I think one guy got to 15 or so. I don't think any of them were arrested.

(the point I'm getting at is that I'm sure this was more than just pinching a few butts).

you're sure? really? i'm not sure of anything. the police dont want to minimize the story for two reasons: women would hate them and it justifies having the positions.
