Murine works for me. I apply it warm, close the ear with a cotton swab. Wait 30 mins, then flush the ear canal with a rubber bulb type irrigator. Works perfectly and is simple, cheap and readily available at Shoppers Drug. Have been doing this for 15 years. Had an annual checkup last month and asked the doc if there was any buildup, and she replied none at all.As mentioned, Shopper's has several ear wax removal products. Murine, Cerumol, etc. They work but will take several applications.
I keep an old syringe thingy with a spout instead of a needle. It works like the big ass syringe thingy / water pick that you see at the doctor's office. I just clean it with soap and (relatively) hot water, dry it off so it doesn't slip, then use warm water in my ears. Basically I keep flushing till the candy-- err, wax comes out. Then I dry it with a q-tip. My ears have always been prone to clogging with wax, and going to the doctor each time stuck me as a waste.Doctors sometimes also have a water pik type gadget they can use to blast the wax out of your ears.
+1 for sure.Surprised Simon hasn't weighed in on this one yet.
This.i vote for the doctor solution. his/her plunger will blast out shit you never thought possible your ears could have been carrying all this time
The ringing is related to damage from noise not ear wax. Two unrelated events. It's not just my hearing that feels impaired by what feels like a clog in my ears, but my right ear often hears nonexistent ringing that lasts for a day or two whenever I hear loud music.
Ear candling is a total scam, as it does not remove anything from your ears, and can be dangerous if the wax falls into your ear canal. Don’t waste your money.Ear candling is another option.
It's a hollow candle that when lit sucks things out of your ear.
+1. I believe it is on quackwatch.Ear candling is a total scam, as it does not remove anything from your ears, and can be dangerous if the wax falls into your ear canal. Don’t waste your money.
I've seen the wax removed that way.... as when a big chunk gets sucked out it clogs the candle.Ear candling is a total scam, as it does not remove anything from your ears, and can be dangerous if the wax falls into your ear canal. Don’t waste your money.
