would appreciate and helpful recommendations on car insurance providers, esp to those with previous infractions and with resultant higher premiums normally. a provider that may be a little more lenient. perhaps some unconventional options that one would not normally think of.
appreciate any help. many thanks.

happy to help a fellow stern fan. vachon-enright and peter are easy to find on the net but the office is a little more difficult. if you are familiar with etobicoke at all they are cross corner fromt eh jag dealer on dundas. you go in the professional building part. 2nd floor don't mind the sound of the elevator it only sounds broken and like it could fall at any second. step off the elevator and it is the door on your left with no marking on it.

Try to find companies who offer discounts for groups that you are a part of (i.e., college/university alumni). TD Meloche Monnex comes to my mind as one of those companies.

Start with www.kanetix.ca/auto-insurance and www.insurancehunter.ca

NOW!!! THESE ARE THE THINGS WILL SAVE YOUR ANNUAL POLICY RATE!!! PLEASE DONT FORGET AS PER BELOW
- PUT JUST 1 MILLION LIABILITY
-$1000 DEDUCTIBLE

After putting all the informations that it requires, those two sites will give you the list of brokers and insurance companies with rates.
In order to get accurate rate, try to putting correct and honest information possible! ( if you do have speeding tickets, don't be shy to put them in)

With those list of brokers and insurance companies, call the ones who gave you the best rate and reconfirm the rate.

If you have any question, please message me! Hope this might helped

For me, given my age, location, driving purposes etc. I got the best rate from CAA, of all places. I've been with them about 5 years now. Every year when my policy is up for renewal i check around and CAA still has the best rate for me.
Just make sure when you're doing price comparisons, that you compare apples with apples! Desjardins had a great rate for me till i found out that they don't have and don't offer a "loss of use" clause which makes the premium higher.

I get my insurance through Meloche Monnex too as part of my alumni group. It's not cheap - nothing in the insurance world is cheap, and insurance is a necessary evil - but it's less expensive than any other place I checked.

Been with All State for 28 years and no regrets. My one claim was dealt with brilliantly and each year they sit down with me to discuss options for change. Plus I have my house insurance with them now which saved me 25%!!

Your best bet is to start off with kanetix. They'll run your info through a bunch of companies and give you rates and you will have a ball park idea of how much to expect. I'd also call up some independent brokers in your area too . Just get as many quotes from different insurers as possible. that's really the only way to ensure you get the best rate for yourself. I'm sure all the folks in here probably have a good record if you say you got some infractions just expect that you are going to get a shitty rate basically no matter where you go.

I found RBC to have the best rates and they listed me as a 5 star driver when other companies didnt. I dont know why I've had a licence for 28 years with no accidents and maybe 3 speeding tickets (8k over on average) but that was 17 years ago. I should be a 5 star driver

I used Kanetix before on several occasions. Actually CAA turned out way cheaper than Grey Power and that really surprised me!
Like I said, I would've gone with Desjardin had they offered a "loss of use" clause but they didn't.
When you're making rate comparisons ensure the deductible, collision and any other perks you want are included in the information you provide them so you're not comparing apples to oranges.

yea ive heard stories of people getting better rates from other companies even when a certian one claims to be better for a specific niche group of people. Always look around like you do. every year you never know.
