Also single (36), no kids, living solo, house paid, etc. For me embracing the lifestyle has been the key to not feeling the void. Having my "house in order"(financially), mini vacations, etc help me sleep at night.

If I were still living with the folks I'm sure I would have a much more negative view on life.

It isn't so bad. A lot depends on the type of folks you have and how you get along with them.

40 is the new 30.
It depends where you live. I'm in a smaller city (250K), where most people have a real small town mentality and settle down young. If you're not married or in a serious relationship by 30, you're the exception and your options are a lot more narrow. I don't want to ditch my friends and parents here, but I think I'd have more options for women in a big city like TO.

Very commendable of you brother taking on someon elses 2 teens
Thanks Troops. It helped that I have known them since they were 6 and 8 years old. I have always liked them and we have always been friends. They also were in favour of the idea. And their alternatives were not so great and I hated all of them.

Agree, good points captain Kirk! I luv my freedom too.

For all those guys who think they are King, until their wife gets home.

Walking into the bar, Mike said to Charlie the bartender,
"Pour me a stiff one - just had another fight with the little woman."

"Oh yeah?" said Charlie. "And how did this one end?"

"When it was over," Mike replied, "she came to me on her hands
and knees."

"Really? Now that's a switch! What did she say?"

She said, "Come out from under the bed, you chicken-shit."

hahahahaha
Hilarious

Im 39 now, started dating my wife at 23 got married at 31 and divorced at 35, no kids. Kinda feel like I wasted my youth with her, it wasn't a bad break up she was a great girl. I won't b getting married again. If there's anyone out there who's on the fence about getting married, make sure it's the right girl not just someone to settle down with, you can waste years and years of your life.
I'm just getting used to being single/dating scene. The girl I'm seeing now is nagging about wanting to be married and have kids yikes.
All in all it's tough living alone, cleaning/eating. But the freedom is awesome.

One of my neighbours has 3 adult children. Two of them are now back living at home along with one of their children on a fulltime basis and the other two kids are a parttime basis. That house must use a lot of water.

Celticman.........I think you just defined the phrase "unsung hero". It is people like you that make a society work. Thank you as a fellow member of society for stepping up. And to all the sp's. Cut this man a discount! He deserves it!

Shill :D Thanks Butler, cheque is in the mail !!

On a serious note, thanks for the kind words. I belong to a couple of organisations that have a spiritual component, and have read books etc on spirituality. The simple truth that I have found in all of this is that I am not the centre of the universe and that it is important to look beyond the one square foot of the planet that I occupy. So it was easy to take on these young folk.
