say the company charges $160 for, the girl gets 60% cut perhaps, some companies offer more, but thats $96 per half hour, and they can typically be fully booked for let's say a 3 hour block 96*3*2=$576 a day and well since the money's in cash, depending on their spending patterns, and plans for real estate, or if the company offers a letter from a sister company for taxing purposes, etc.... well they can basically say they earn less than they actually do, then again interest on money is a great think, so I've heard some escorts supposedly file as a "freelancer writer", etc.

Now tips for someone earning $576 per day, before taxes, lets say 3 days a week ~=$1728 a week * 52 weeks is $89,856 money in cash.
Plus, they could charge extra for swallow, COF, etc. suppose thats $20-$50 extra on "tips" .

And some put their breasts out etc, and want you to suck them, etc... perhaps to hope that you would tip more. but as a cheap-ass typical tips would be

Because in many good restaurants, a Server can take his or her wage up to 30 or 40 bucks an hour.

That translates to 65 to 85 grand a year. Someone in that bracket should be paying tax.

You use the hospitals?

You use healthcare, education, justice, social services???

Fucking pay your share.

I tend to tip generously but... At a bar im kind of stingy. I know they pull in good money so $1 for bringing me a beer seems like enough for not much work at all.

I would suggest though that you all tip well to the ladies working at the small family restaurants. the dingy struggling places and aren't the greatest. Those ladies do a lot and don't get paid that well for it. Bartenders pull in hundreds a night, same with waitresses at a bar (unless it's a crappy bar) and cabbies do alright too.

... But really even a waitress at a crummy restaurant pulls in more than someone at McDick's or walmart.... Even at less than minimum wage after you factor in tips.

You made alot of vague and sweeping comments about what servers do and don't make. Only bartenders in clubs and select sports bars pull in 'hundreds' of dollars per night. Less so in the case of waitresses.

When i moved up a little it was $150 ish. my friend who works in toronto makes up to $500 a night mostly waitressing but doing some bar backing. Bartenders make way more than that. A shooter girl can pull in even more than a waitress, if she resells the drinks (all the smart ones do! Lol)

I just think there are people who work a lot harder for a lot less. The bar waitresses make a whack of cash off of people who feel that they don't make very much, when in reality they really do.

It's when you get a guy to buy you a drink. One for him, one for you. Then you make the excuse that you can't drink while the boss is watching but you'll put it aside and drink it later. You thank the guy and walk away with the money for two shots plus a tip and then you go and sell that drink at cost and pocket the money and the tip you earned from re-selling it. Lol

Some girls flirt and get buys to buy them drinks, but what the waitress is drinking is water. She can still get in trouble for appearing to drink the drink and she also doesnt make twice the tip... This never made sense to me same with the old "it's my birthday" thing... Like if you plan on working there for longer than a week, people are going to catch on that your full of it. Lol

Yes, but you are talking about bars and clubs which the staff are more 'cocktailing' than 'waiting on a table'. Different types of service which require different serving styles and skill-sets. Yes 'shooter girls' and the like make a ton, but is it the service that is earning them their income. I'm not complaining, but to really discuss the act of tipping (especially to those who have never done the job) only mentioning the top earners earnings and/or the bottom leaves a large segment of the industry unaccounted for.

Yeah i understand. It's customary and polite. In general i tip the people who need it. Is all im trying to say. I tip the people who work hard for very little and try not to overdo it with people who aren't anywhere near "hurting" lol. You'd be surprised who makes what and who are the most overpaid. I've worked in a lot of different service jobs and some people are complete dicks about it. They make a lot of money and expect a tip on top! A good example is tattoo artist's... They're some of the most overpaid assholes.

TIPS = To Improve Prompt Service.

If you want to tip someone for doing an awesome job, do it. If you want to receive better or more quick service next time, leave a generous tip. If you want to be served first at a crowded bar, tip big on the first tip then tip average on subsequent trips to the bar. If you want to be served last and wait longer, leave no tip.

The customer service in the states is usually better because their minimum wage can be as low as close to or near $3.00.

I generally tip like Chantelle--I tip well in small hometown style establishments. However, I tip well during breakfast or lunch -- where servers receive less tip money. I also tip generously in a bar--I want to be served first and I don't want to wait longer in line for my drink. Only once did I not leave a tip because the service was EXCEPTIONALLY horrible--so bad that a few others at the table who were also past servers/bartenders like myself did not leave a tip (I try to tell people to always leave a tip even if service was bad but this was really really and I mean REALLY bad service). There is always the saying that those who don't tip or don't understand tipping, should try to work a job where they are paid less than minimum wage and have to work for their tips.

About a year and half ago my SO and i stopped going to restaurants.She was in the industry for years and I was sick of the food.We started cooking at home and I realized several things I did not miss

1.Waiting for anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes in room full of strangers to eat a meal
2.The meal being loaded with crap that I would never put in it at home.(msg etc etc etc)
3.Loud patrons and their unruly children who get to act like little assholes because they are not at home.
4.Line ups to get into a half decent restaurant
5.Undercooked or overcooked food.
6.Watered down drinks
7.8-9 dollars for a slice of frozen cheesecake
8.Last but not least.Tips for people who simply did not deserve it.

It's expected for a customer to tip now.For what? sitting there for 20 minutes waiting for a water refill like some third world refugee?A generic"how's everything tasting" with all the etthusiam of a medicated parrot?Ambience of a carny show?No thanks.

I've saved hundreds of dollars in the last year and a half and i don't have to deal with entitled waiters who think that uniform entitles them to charity....and boy oh boy the shit looks you get if you don't give...


Don't even get me started on the social misfits that work drive thru windows.Another social event I turfed about a year and half ago.

I am a pretty good tipper, especially, at the restaurants. I worked at many different restaurants when I went to high school and college so I always appreciated the good tips when I provided the excellent services. What bother me is now everyone is expecting tips including Starbucks. When I tipped them there, they didn't even say thanks!!!

Service at restaurants is abysmal in Canada. We have one of the worst in the World, except maybe for Europe and the Third World.

I am surprised to see that, even though these people's salary depend on customer satisfaction, they could care less. I have seen it all, from the hot dog stand on the street to McDonalds to the fanciest restaurants in Toronto.

I happen to have very high standards when it comes to service (of all kind, including SPs of course) and I can't stand when I am getting bad service. In these situations I do not tip and I write a note on the slip that says "tip is earned by providing excellent customer service, try harder next time...."

When I receive good service I tip 10%, if I receive excellent service 15% and, 20% if she has big tits and pretends I am her best customer

Seriously man, if you pick shit restaurants you get shit food and service. I have never suffered through the vast majority of things on your list, and I have not lined up for a restaurant in more than 15 years.

If you want to eat out again I am happy to give you a list of places where you will not encounter any of those things.
