Bad as we are, I would rather be a homo (not that I am) and/or a woman (not that I am) in Canada than in Black majority rule Zimbabwe or Brown Islamic Iran.

BTW: Charlize Theron, Sandra Bullock and Madonna all adopted Black babies. Maybe we should all do the same:p.

LOL Don't forget that Brangelina have adopted a rainbow of kids.... not sure if they have a complete set.

I've looked at lists of best countries to live in and the top 10 are Euro or N American. That being said I'll be there's probably some pretty decent places to live too. Especially if you search for countries to retire in..... you find some interesting things there.

you're right though that the most intolernat parts of Canada are probably still better than certain african countries or iran.

"the Chinese language is just more logical than others, and this is one reason why Chinese people are naturally smarter than others".
When the Brits were granted Singapore Island circa 1822, it was little more than uninhabited swampland. The Brits asked themselves which people would be industrious and intelligent enough to turn this swamp into the great port that it became? Yes, it was the Chinese and hence the great city of Singapore was born.

BTW: The Brits sent the E.I.'s to Africa.

Why were they sent to Africa?

I was going to blame it on the Brits again. Just kidding! Don't know. Wasn't a former president of Peru (or some country near there) of Japanese ancestry?
Maybe you know those south americans are all the same. Maybe I have the countries mixed up. :D

How is that different from you claiming that Europeans are better because they created a more tolerant culture?
No-one has made that claim. The claim is just that in the present day white Canadians and Americans tend to be more tolerant than non-white ones. I also pointed out this difference seems, to me, to disappear after a few generations. Immigrants do absorb these formerly European values, which can and should become global values.

He never said he was Chinese, he just spoke the language. Fuji is most likely a Jew who converted to Islam, judging from his posts.
That's a new one. I am keeping a list of all the races I have been suspected of being. It's quite a long list.

Would have never guess Chinese as a Japanese handle just seems wrong for a Chinese person given the bad blood between the two countries.

So if he's not asian and just overhearing Mandarin. I'm calling it an even smaller sample size.
It was something I heard frequently when I lived in China, and have heard repeated here too. I have more experience with Chinese culture than with other immigrant groups, but, again, my experience is that racism is far more prevalent in other countries than it is in Canada, and immigrants bring it here with them when they arrive. Basketcase automatically assumed that means I think Europeans are "better" which is false. Just earlier to the human rights party.

hmmmm details change....you claimed it was widely uttered by 1st gen immigrants..... now you add while living in china.

It takes a certain type of person(figure of speech there are multiple reasons to immigrate) to pick up and move halfway around the world to a country where you are the minority and the language you speak is not commonly used there. Not saying all immigrants are special people just that how similar are they to people who choose not to move? Will the have the same, similar or different views I can't say. But I wouldn't assume that they are automatically one and the same.

In terms of 1st gen immigrants are we talking 10, 100, 1000 different people saying these things? Roughly what percentage of 1st gens that you have met does this constitute?

Bull. You just don't hear about it as often as most white Canadians don't have significant contact with non-whites and are at no disadvantage because of racism.

Considering you routinely say others are worse and all the great things western culture has done that others haven't, it seems pretty obvious.

Why is bullying still a problem? even in mainly white schools kids will find differences between each other be it looks, socio economic background, who their parent/sibling is, how the y talk, how they act.

+1

And he restricts it to recent history so that he can exclude all the great accomplishments that happened before western culture.

I mean the chinese gave us paper, printing press, gunpowder three things that were pivotal for that list of great western accomplishments. Many of them were really a bunch of rich guys who didn't want to pay taxees to the king of England. But yeah let's pretend it was all about equality. Then look at the long gap in time between thte creation of those documents and the civil rights movement.

Where have I said others are worse? You're reading in things I never wrote. I certainly think that the development of democracy and human rights was a significant achievement.
