The Knicks just traded for Raymond Felton, does this mean they won't match the $25 million offer sheet given to Lin by the Rockets? With Felton and Kidd you don't need Lin, they'll be spending $10 million on Felton and $9.5 million on Kidd, it would make little sense for them to pay another point guard $25 million i.e. Lin.
Lin is good, but he's not worth $25 million, if the Rockets end up getting him they'll have to pay him $14 million in the third year of his contract. If the Knicks match the offer sheet and keep Lin it would be pretty stupid, considering how much they're already paying the other 2 guards, not to mention Melo, Amare and Chandler.
I can name 10 point guards in the league that are better than Lin just off the top of my head, Rose, Westbrook, Paul, D-Will, Rondo, Nash, Parker, Curry, Irving, even Chalmers, it would be a joke if he gets voted in as the starting guard in the all-star game due to voting in China a la Yao Ming.
